Okay, long story short: I know how hard-left this sub is, and I'm pretty much to the left myself. I can't stand crooked elected officials. I fiercely support Black Lives, and I think we need reform badly.

But I happen to enjoy some movies/shows/games that have elected characters.

And I'm getting beyond fed up with seeing a certain elected officials (AOC) that impacted me so much get attacked from the left in this manner. Basically, I don't agree with how some in the hard left keep holding it up as "lib propaganda" or "liberal", which it isn't, and people accusing it of "getting socialist agendas wrong" when in reality, the game is an allegory for socialism as a whole.

Like, I don't find crap like this funny. I find it infuriating. Because it's not true. https://i.redd.it/4za5hoectyy41.jpg

Some hard leftists accuse the game of missing the mark because the "imposter" evolved from eating prey mammals to eating other humans. That's not meant to symbolize anything in real life, it's just something that happened with those animals in a kids' movie. It doesn't clash with the game's messaging at all. It's not "liberal apologism" because the imposters are depicted as inept in many ways, and the story contains a moral against unfair profiling.

Now for some reason, the "NP" link option isn't working, but I discussed this before in BreadTube and Complete Anarchy.

I'm asking you how you feel about this because I once encountered a thread in this sub mocking AOC, doing the whole "electoralism" thing, and I was legit upset by it.

If you think I'm some kind of idiot, weirdo or loser for getting so emotional about a game aimed at kids that's part of a big corporation, that's your right. But people have been sharing "AOC's a pig, smash the state" memes in the Among Us sub. And as someone who can't watch certain scenes in the game without crying my eyes out, they really bothered me and I didn't think they were fair at all.

Especially given how aggressively critical the game is of electoralism, and democracy in general.

i had friends calling me a simp because I was pumped that AOC was doing numbers on twitch last night with ilhan. The Ilhan gaming pc picture was hilarious.

I got to meet Ilhan once, and before she got up to speak, she was waiting on a speaker before her, and a toddler ran up to her from the small crowd and without skipping a beat she picked the baby up over her head and back down into her arms then handed off to the parents.

yeah whatever, i'll simp. They both deserve a gundam.
