Okay, long story short: I know how hard-left this sub is, and I'm pretty much to the left myself. I can't stand crooked elected officials. I fiercely support Black Lives, and I think we need reform badly.

But I happen to enjoy some movies/shows/games that have elected characters.

And I'm getting beyond fed up with seeing a certain elected officials (AOC) that impacted me so much get attacked from the left in this manner. Basically, I don't agree with how some in the hard left keep holding it up as "lib propaganda" or "liberal", which it isn't, and people accusing it of "getting socialist agendas wrong" when in reality, the game is an allegory for socialism as a whole.

Like, I don't find crap like this funny. I find it infuriating. Because it's not true. https://i.redd.it/4za5hoectyy41.jpg

Some hard leftists accuse the game of missing the mark because the "imposter" evolved from eating prey mammals to eating other humans. That's not meant to symbolize anything in real life, it's just something that happened with those animals in a kids' movie. It doesn't clash with the game's messaging at all. It's not "liberal apologism" because the imposters are depicted as inept in many ways, and the story contains a moral against unfair profiling.

Now for some reason, the "NP" link option isn't working, but I discussed this before in BreadTube and Complete Anarchy.

I'm asking you how you feel about this because I once encountered a thread in this sub mocking AOC, doing the whole "electoralism" thing, and I was legit upset by it.

If you think I'm some kind of idiot, weirdo or loser for getting so emotional about a game aimed at kids that's part of a big corporation, that's your right. But people have been sharing "AOC's a pig, smash the state" memes in the Among Us sub. And as someone who can't watch certain scenes in the game without crying my eyes out, they really bothered me and I didn't think they were fair at all.

Especially given how aggressively critical the game is of electoralism, and democracy in general.

i had friends calling me a simp because I was pumped that AOC was doing numbers on twitch last night with ilhan. The Ilhan gaming pc picture was hilarious.

I got to meet Ilhan once, and before she got up to speak, she was waiting on a speaker before her, and a toddler ran up to her from the small crowd and without skipping a beat she picked the baby up over her head and back down into her arms then handed off to the parents.

yeah whatever, i'll simp. They both deserve a gundam.

I am just downvoting every mention I see of AOC and feet together tbh, literally regardless of context. Yes, that includes my own comment here which I will be downvoting out of principle.

I guess it started as making fun of horny posters, but all I see when I look at one of these posts now is more horny posting. Leave the woman's feet alone.

This stream is good, streaming with AOC and Ilhan is a political statement in a way and people like Pokimane, DisguisedToast and Myth have massive followings, mostly consisting of young gamers.

These usually apolitical people taking a side with someone who is perceived as „far left“ by many less online people is very good imo.

I wonder how she feels about the feet stuff. It's really funny, but nonetheless kinda bad.

I think it's pretty tone deaf and sexist to make those comments directly towards her. They're funny when they're making fun of Ben Shapiro or other conservatives who are creepily obsessed with her. Making the comments yourself just sets you among those seedy conservatives.

Eh I don't really get it, but it's a pretty common thing. People are into other weird shit like collarbones and forearms and calves and assholes. I guess part of the joke is that conservatives are really sexually oppressed/deviant but like that's a "cuck" tier joke. Kinkshaming is the way of the volcel police.

ofc she does, it's harassment, and anyone in this thread saying "yeah but it's funny irony" is fucking dumb.

Yeah, tbh the real problem in the Dem primary was that Warren was actually reading all her mentions. Her entire campaign became too deluded with that shit to realize they had better career prospects under a Bernie presidency than with Biden.

Tbh this twitch stream is good, I'm nervous about the various left wing down ballot candidates and more energy needs to be put into GOTV for down ballot.

The look on her face really makes the whole thing come together.
