Came across this while scrolling replies for people to add to the block list and wowie. I was aware of the habit of calling Russian people 'orcs', but now they're also using 'goblin' to refer to North Koreans. Yes, I posted a screenshot of another screenshot. Just in case you need another reason to stay away other than the transphobia. I've seen just as many "DEUS VULT" dogwhistle usernames that I've also reported and they've done nothing about, so unless you're writing explicit slurs, it seems like they're going to just let things ride like everywhere else.

Yeah, I think white people are the last people to have the right to call anyone an orc or a goblin.

Like go think about it and your place in this for ten seconds, vampire.

You shouldn't underestimate the enemy, but he is dying

Just pure fanfic and not even good fanfic but self-insert level of fanfic.

"what's the worst thing you can think of calling someone? ummm orcs in lord of the rings were bad dudes! goblins are usually bad in movies too!"

not to discount the racism inherent here, but there's a bit of a silliness to using such words that kinda prevents people from taking it seriously.. or maybe that's just me

It's silly but it really is insidious. The implication being that the 'orcs' are both brainwashed and corrupted by a more powerful authority figure, while the 'goblins' are their lesser and cowardly underlings. Both are 'corrupted' versions of better beings that are now inherently evil and incapable of any good. Just mindless fodder that wants to kill and eat anything it comes across, along with other depravities. I think that deeper meaning is lost and why people use it so freely because most people would not agree that this is an accurate or good way to talk about Russian people, but it gets waived away because of the silliness of it.

Well we know that he is full of shit and talk out of his ass, simply for the matter that NK are literally not allowed to go to NATO countries by decree of the UN. Why bother defecting to a country you have no experience of if you immediately have to stand trial?
