RANT - THE ESTABLISHMENT WINS2020 is going to be a resounding victory for the Democratic establishment.Donald Trump would lose to a rusty trash can, but when Biden wins, Dem leaders will claim that shunning the left and embracing Bush-era war criminals is what did it.— Peter Daou (@peterdaou) October 25, 2020
How could it not just repeat? Another neolib ghoul, Trump on the ropes, people claiming Biden has a 90%+ chance if winning, Bernie cut out and ratfucked but still stumping for the neolib candidate, a disorganized and undisciplined left that lacks militancy.
The only big differences this time is Q, Trump going standard GOP instead of attacking them and not being the outsider but the one man most responsible for the last 4 years (as far as any one person could), both candidates are dementiad out, and Biden being personally likeable instead of off-putting. And corona, too.
You underestimate just how much Americans didn't like HRC. Joe Biden might be pretty much the same person in regards to position, but that doesn't matter because he's liked, more or less.
Hillary lost because people didn't come out for her. I don't think Joe will have that problem. The only group he's struggling with is young black men, and they're likely not to vote instead of voting Trump. Young people are not reliable voters anyway, so it's negligible.
OP is right, Biden wins, DNC takes this as Republicans will vote for us if we're Republican lite, and in 4 years they will lose. 2 years for the house.

I think you underestimate how important her evil policies were, in making people hate her. Sure some of it was "hurr durr she has a vagine and she eats babies in a pizzeria basement". But most of it was "another fucking Democrat that isn't going to do shit for me, I guess I'll trust the 0.000000001% chance that the Apprentice Guy isn't a complete and total fucking liar, or just not vote".
By running Biden, someone even worse than Clinton politically and also with Alzheimer's, they ensure that anyone who felt that way then, still feels that way in 2020.
We’re going to have record turnout in cities and places that doesn’t matter electorally. Trump people will be having record turnout when they’re vote is worth two. One to cancel out and one for the electoral inflation.
I don't know man, I think maybe we underestimated how much boomers & regular people just want to go back to living their lives comfortably. The COVID mishandling is probably going to be the nail in the coffin.
Do former Trump voters actually think he fucked up his covid response? I've only ever seen libs say he mishandled it, but I don't know too many open Trump fans who made any comment on the virus other than china did it.
I just think he's going to get a lot of votes that aren't accounted for in polls, and a lot of the people saying they're going to vote for Biden, are either (a) from the massive voter group that just says stuff and doesn't really decide till 8 seconds before getting in the voting booth, or (b) not going to vote at all because they don't actually have anything motivating them to vote other than "Trump sucks".
I think the electoral map will look a lot like '16: Biden will win all the same states Clinton won by large margins, and Trump will win all the same states he won by large margins last time. And then it will be up to like 10 swing states, and I don't think the polling is reliable to conclude that Biden will cakewalk there. He might win, I'm not saying it's impossible, but I think the triumphalism is a little bit unwarranted at this point in time.
I saw a think about how many new voters each party registered, republicans way up in quite a few swing states so those are people who might not be counted in the polls. But yeah good points there is definitely still a path for him to win legitimately
I know Trump is going to win. Whether it's because he just barely squeaks out a couple swing states or because he sues over mail in ballots, he will be the one getting inaugurated on January 20th.
I think it will be a combination of both. The legit aspect of the election will be way closer than these boomers and libs think it will be, because of their cult-like devotion to political opinion polls.
So it will be close enough to steal, if they need to. And they will, and the Dems will (a) get flummoxed and not know what to do, and (b) ultimately not fight it, like Gore.
I honestly think trump is going to win.

Same as it ever was.

Hey man we are going to flip Georgia and Texas!
Thanks. I needed that laugh.

Ah, so the only big differences are everything that Americans use to judge their political candidates.
lol
I think the only actual consequential one is that Trump stopped acting like an insurgent outsider

I think the general opinion is that US government fucked up the COVID response, have to remember that the general populace is not terminally online
True, I also live in Chudland™ where boots are always on the menu so my immediate area isn't very telling of the rest of the country.
A lot more people voted for Trump than just the vocal supporters / base
I see a very clear path to victory for him, stop mail in vote counting after election night. Declare victory that evening.
You are not wrong, but I see a path to victory where he wins in a legit way, too.
I don't see it but that doesn't mean it isn't there. How do you think he can win?
