In tech and community theory we call this the 1/9/90 rule.

I know this post is a joke. But it's actually a re-occurring phenomena with online services, forums, communities, social media in-general.

Some days I feel like posting, some days I can only lurk. From each according to their abilities. I respect my silent comrades, and I am glad they are here with us as well.

Being on the sub reminded of being a freshman in highschool. It was terrifying to be around all these new, cool and wise-to-the-world peeps. I felt like I had nothing to add to the conversation, that I had much more learning to do. Of course I still feel that way, but it's not as bad now after realizing that not all these new peeps are cool, or wise-to-the-world, but are libs just like me.

Just like highschool. I was the kid who found nerdy seniors to hang out with. It got more lonely as the years progressed.

All chapo posters own their means of shitposting though

It is they that are not producing content

From the Russia constitution of 1918

In the USSR work shitposting is a duty and a matter of honor for every able-bodied citizen, in accordance with the principle: "He who does not work shitpost neither shall he eat".

Just pull yourself up by your bootstraps and post more, it's easy. I was able to start up my cool chapo.chat posting business with a small 2 million dollar loan from my granddad's twitter and reddit karma hoards.
