im gonna link a comment i made

chilean elections are multiparty ones, there is like 10-15 parties and they make coalitions to win the presidency if the left unifies with the christian dems then there is no hope for the conservatives normaly, this election i dont think the christian dems are gonna risk losing seats by not coalitioning with the left

in chile elections are decided by coalitions and he is the strongest left candidate

I do not get how people lived during Reagan, saw his direct damage to the very fabric of our lives, and think "Gommunism bad, it cause all bad tings to happen". But then, I don't get how people like Joe.

People in the core have absolutely no mental connection between the political legislation and the material changes in their lives. They literally do not connect the two properly.

I can only put this down to the fact the people are so heavily alienated by capitalism that they are also alienated from the political acts and their effects themselves. It is a drama on tv with two teams. Their effects are largely meaningless to the vast majority of people. The only thing they pay attention to are the dramatic bits and the elections themselves, none of the in between.

This is an environment purposefully created by a combination of sucking the energy and time out of people and the entertainment we are provided as a distraction for what little time we have left.

and it worked. Now a democrat can brag that he would be a moderate reagan era republican and a popular (lol) "progressive" was a reagan era republican.

          It's fucked.

Yeah I vaguely remember watching live footage of the first Iraq invasion on TV with people in the living room at my dad's friend's house cheering it on like it was a fucking football game.

Capitalism itself is very reminiscent of that sort of cosmic horror; A vast uncaring and indifferent entity that simply seeks to consume all that it encounters, its machinations unable to be grasped by the majority that come into contact with it instead absorbing them into its horrifying designs and those of us that do glimpse the total scope of its being are almost ubiquitously driven mad with the knowledge of all that horror and human suffering.

It's very funny when Americans project their understanding of the constitution and other institutions to other countries as if it's the exact same thing. Here for example the constitution is fucking massive, has all sorts of dumb nonsense that probably doesn't even need to be there anyways, and it changes every 15 years or something. Plus everyone constantly hates everything about it and wants it changed, left and right alike. But some American chuds think the constitution is everywhere something sacred and inalienable.

So my limited understanding is that they have voted approve rewrite constitution but I havnt seen any news regarding the method, are they using half of current legislators and half of ones voted in? Being rewritten by delegates all elected now? What parties do these delegates belong to, what are the political leanings of said parties? Limited research turned up one actual party invested in the rewriting and one coalition dedicated to rewriting, would be amazing if a majority of newly elected delegates are.open to leftist government, as that would allow a modern constitutional interpretation of leftist principles.

Awesome article, I'll still have to search for the answer to my question though I'm curious which of: "a Mixed Convention — made up of both sitting congressmen and women and elected citizens; or through a Constitutional Convention — fully elected by popular vote). The people chose

Oh right. Constitutional Convention won, by about 80%.

As I understand, even if the alliences betwen parties to run delegates are not yet made, this could be beneficial to the left, since our current electoral system overrepresents the right (They got 38% of the vote but 46% of senators last time for example).

That makes sense, hence my worries for a mixed convention as any hold outs from previous govt would probably be against major reforms. Thanks!!
