I can't get over the idea that the detainees who didn't weather all that propaganda will come home to a bunch of raving lunatics.
The bags contained “gifts and souvenirs”, including a map of the Gaza Strip, photographs of them in Hamas captivity and a “certificate”, according to The Jerusalem Post.
Lmao they sent them with like amusement park gift shop shit
[a month later] all right!! Who’s been drinking out of my Hamas coffee mug?
It's also funny how they frame it as 'in captivity'; they mean they took photos of them, most likely ones intended to be positive as well.
The best part of it all is that these goody bags were arranged whilst hiding beside the fucking Netzarim corridor, one of the most militarised occupied zones of the strip
Just imagining it now: "I spent over a year as a guest of Hamas and all I got was this lousy t-shirt"
No, they're going to coach at least a few of them into making up stories about horrors and atrocities and put those obviously staged and coerced "stories" on blast in the western news media. And if they can't coach any into that they'll just make it up like theremoveds and the western media will keep repeating it and using it to bash pro-Palestinians over the head.
On a related note. Bets on whether this ceasefire results in the ICC/ICJ washing their hands of the whole thing or the US managing to lean on South Africa enough to drop the case? Because I just can't see the west not pulling out all the stops to brush this whole thing under a rug and say it's in the past.
"welcome to 6 o'clock News at 11. I'm here with one of the kidnapping victims. How was being detained?"
"It was aight."
"Alright? You're very brave for enduring the horror of being kidnapped."
"Nah, it wasn't all that."
"You don't have to put on a brave face for our sake. Tell us about it."
"My favorite days were when Greg would make us pizza and put in Family Guy."
"Alright. Thank you. That's enough. I'll kick it back over to you guys in the studio!"
honestly wish i was given free room and board by a revolutionary group for 1 year and all i have to do is sit there tbh.
though i guess israel trying to kill you wouldnt make it very fun
also the people would be feeding you while they themselves are starving. That's the main harrowing account that's gonna come out of this I believe, how they kept their guests alive while everyone around them was sick and starving.
It's crazy but no journalist is pointing out the comparison between the well fed Israeli detainees and the starved Palestinians in Israeli prisons (of course state media gonna state media)
what was 'theremoveds'? Not some morbid curiosity, just seems like an otherwise good comment so I'm assuming this is some word I'll either learn for the first time or know not to use on Hexbear.
I think it's the word for someone who works in therapy (remove 'the' and 's' from that word and you have a word that I believe is censored)
Therapy-ist
I am really proud of how good the filter is though, it's an awesome filter. I think we should always create "workarounds" for these problems with emotes, though. In this case, we just need to emote some famous therapy-ist every time we want to say the word. It'd be sort of like cultures with word-taboo's but naturally built in hexbear language.
Lol what is the s_horpe problem? I'm also realizing my english is not good enough to solve these puzzles, "therapy-ist" seems so obvious now but I really couldn't figure it out.
Sort of like the guy named Nasser who had the "ass" part of his name removed by a word filter, so his name ended up being "N***er", which looked a lot worse
Lmao just like how there's a town over in East Anglia called COCKthorpe
It's a town in England which unfortunately contains a word referring to genitals, which means that it's often censored in part or whole by word filters. If you type 'shorpe problem' you'll into a search engine you'll find the answer
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
i think its "the sexual assaults" but missing a space and censored
I genuinely hope the media talks to them first (though obviously not likely).
As for the ICC/ICJ thing, chances are they'll just drop it sadly. I hope they don't, but I find it hard to be optimistic about it. And yes, as is typical, everyone will be expected to put this in the past.
I think western media will spin it to benefit Israel anyway.
