Remember the week or two when various pundits were trying to paint Bernie as anti-semitic during the primaries? Must have been annoying for them how Bernie being Jewish got in the way of trying that same shit here.

Genuinely not looking forward to them trying it again in 2021, once the dust settles.

Although I'm going to take a modicum of pleasure when Bloomberg finances the Liz Warren primary challenge that kicks her ass to the curb.

Chavez had the military on his side, as does Maduro, and the only reason MAS is in power is because of general strike and threats of civil war, and appears to have realized their mistakes, and are currently appear to start moving towards cracking down on the coup plotters and getting control for MAS

the only reason MAS is in power is because of general strike and threats of civil war

That wasn't true for the last 15 years, though.

The U.S. doesn't need any specific event to manufacture consent against leftists. The fact remains that Morales:

              1. Is a leftist, who
              2. Obtained power in an election, and
              3. Had a ~15 year run before reactionary opposition was ginned up.

That flies in the face of suggestions that leftists will never be allowed to win elections or that they'll be immediately deposed (like Allende) if they do.

The takeaway from Bolivia has much more to do with what leftists should do once they obtain power (defang reactionary opposition) than with how best to obtain power in the first place.

The book is hardly closed on Evo. Bolivian Fash are doing "Please Helicopter Ride Our Enemies" prayer circles even as we speak.

no, they're a bullshit lie that at heart conflates any regard whatsoever for the human rights of Palestinians with "anti-semitism"

to them literally any conception that the state of Israel could do something wrong is anti-semitism

        It wasn't a complete lie.

He was pro-Palestinian. Advocating for the full citizenship and sovereignty of Palestinians within their own state is de facto anti-Semitic in the eyes of western media.

Mods at the shitty labour subreddit argued that giving the Palestinians rights is taking away Israel’s right to self determination.

          Totally not apartheid like though.

This might sound like supposition, but I want to remind everyone that internal Labour documents leaked which proved that this absolutely happened and was intentional

Young people defended Corbyn. He got 10m votes with half the country convinced he was a terrorist, communist and antisemite. Let it be of note it took 4 years of unrelenting propaganda from 99% of the print media to establish this. The major effect was disenfranchising traditional Labour voters, while a white supremacist anti-EU party, "The Brexit Party" ran in constituencies against Labour in order to split their vote...while the Libdems did the same thing in Labour fortresses and also contributed to the effect, but to a lesser extent. They did despite being 'center left' relentlessly attack Labour and ended up losing most of their seats because their entire campaign was built on 'Corbyn is bad lol". It was a fix.

Go to ukpol on reddit, which is lib central and the going take is that it was obviously bullshit but Corbyn 'deserved it' because he violated to sanctity of liberalism and the classist standards they impose on the working class. If he had 'defended him self better' then the liberals wouldn't have had to sabotage him.

Fuck all those Blairite cunts in Labour, Jez should have purged all of them but unfortunately he can be too naive or kind at times. Also fuck the Lib Dems for good measure.

Uh he did purge them didn’t you read the news?

Shuffled the shadow cabinet. Brutal purge. Just brutal.

A bad thing happened in a similar context, which of course means that bad thing will always 100% happen and anything related to that context is useless
