We all know what this is really about. Biden is, through no fault of his own, most likely going to win this election, and would no matter what his policies were. They're putting this out there so they have it on record later, so that when he wins they can say "well, Joe said he wouldn't defund the police and he won, so that must mean the people don't want him to defund the police". They're establishing the narrative for his "mandate"
