I don't need the toxic stress of watching the news or social media. So instead, I'm gonna sit down and watch some old Beyblade episodes and then hang with my DnD group over voice.
What are you all's plans?
I'm leaning toward going to a park, turning off my phone, and hiking around as long as I can stand.
Let's not normalize having a job when so many are unemployed. but surely you're not at the job 24/7. Planning anything to escape the toxic shit in the evening?
It's going to be really boring tomorrow night. Either Biden obviously cruises early on and it's called by midnight, or it's close and the networks won't call any swing states until 3 in the morning (and even then it will be the not-really-swing-states like Texas and Georgia, probably Ohio and Iowa, maybe Florida). Then they do a whole morning of endless back and forth until they slowly start to make actual calls around 10am-noon.
If Trump wins big on election day voting and the mail-in votes are slow to count, don't be surpised if the networks don't display ANY results, not even preliminary totals, for some states. Pennsylvania this will almost definitely be the case, maybe a bit less so in Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and North Carolina. You might not see a single voting result for Pennsylvania until noon on Wednesday (or later) because CNN will want to "avoid encouraging misinformation by providing non-representative results before a more accurate count is available"
Work all day. Probably pick up an 18 or 30 rack in the afternoon and start pounding beers as soon as I get back to my computer
what I want to do is lay in bed all day and watch TV, etc.
unfortunately, that's not what I'll be doing and I'm not at all looking forward to what I will actually be doing.
