biden wins by a comfortable margin (but not a complete blowout) and trump throws a fit and claims that it was rigged but ultimately cedes power on january 20 like normal
the real concern is that some hardcore q psychos are gonna try violence over the coming months. some plots will be foiled, some will happen
if you're hoping for a communist revolution i hate to be the bearer of bad news but that just ain't in the cards right now
People seem to love drawing parallels between now and 1905, but I think most optimistically (if you can even compare this to Russia) we're in the late 1890s.
Why would he do that when there are avenues he can still win through?
This is Trump. He does anything and everything in the institutional framework to get ahead. Norms? Things you don't do just because? He doesn't care about those. If there's no rule against it he does it.
I will be incredibly surprised if he does not contest whatever the result is and take that to the fullest extent of the law available to him, which in this case is the supreme court.
He has absolutely no incentive to not do that and to not leave on January 20. There is nothing that will stop him. His lawyers will even recommend it to him.
