There have been a lot of posts about this but I didn't know it was for 30 seconds until I watched NPR and they said that. But they didn't show the whole thing. Instead they just showed a few seconds. I had to find another fucking video. Who wants NPR analysis? Show me the treat!

I cued it up to the freeze up.

somewhere, a cat knocked over a candle and, for about 30 seconds, distracted the imps from feeding corpses into the cauldron of boiling acid, interrupting the psychic link between the being in the chaos realm and it's host corpse.

This is exactly what happened to me in 2002 when I worked in a coffee shop and someone dared me to eat a full tbsp of nutmeg powder.

You can actually get high on Nutmeg, though you'd want fresh ground not powder

I've heard the high like weed edibles but it gives you a headache and dry mouth

what happens to this country after a certain threshold of people in power die of old age? Cus, like, in a healthy and functioning institution (not a good one, persay, just a functioning one), these figures would have already been replaced. They'd have been given their golden meal ticket, a commemorative watch, and a pat on the head. Then someone younger-but-no-less-goulish would step in to fill their role. But that isn't happening.

Like, theoretically, the staffers and campaign organizations should be lining up the next batch as yesterday's bread is kindly shown the door. So, what? Can none of those people imagine a world without this dried up turtle? And it's not like ol' Mitch is some one-off fluke. This is happening up and down the seats -- and across the aisle. Look at Peloci. Is america so incapable of imagining a future that even job-advancement by dead man's shoes is too much to contemplate? What the fuck happens to a continent spanning entity when that happens? I mean, monarchy is shit, but fuck, at least you know who's gonna be on the throne in a few decades... that there will be a throne.

Ugg. What i'm trying to say is, fuck fuck fuck what happens next i don't know this is madness

These people already are replaced. Senators aren't the ones running the United States. They're just one set of people that makes up a small part of the ruling class. Mitch McConnell being old isn't preventing the ruling class from functioning. There's entire departments full of people from all sorts of age ranges who spend their waking hours making this entity continue to function. And I don't know but I don't feel like those people have lost confidence in this project. It's easy to keep going when you make money. And the US has a lot of money thanks to what it does to the world.

You're right, I've overstated the phenomenon.

Still feels kind of worrying. Like, if its happening in a big obvious televised job like 'senator', then I gotta wonder how pervasive it is. Like, what necessary clerical or administrative task is getting neglected because it's out of the public eye and nobody is willing to tell someone to consider retirement?
