IMHO Reddit sucked after it closed /r/reddit, so c/main must remain as a central hub for everyone othewise we'll split into weird niches after every fight, fragmenting further and further until no one can recognize the original purpose of the comms.
newsflash, those people who post violent content agaisnt slave owners and landlords? they are the heroes of the story, and this is our valhalla
Sir that deserves a trophy, not criticism. I think you're in the wrong place.
that's bullshit. We removed thousands of violent content and we still got banned. We asked the admins what can we do to improve the sub and we go radio silence. It's all bullshit.
No, you don’t understand what I’m saying, once the CIAReddit admins set their sights on our sub, there was no going back. In the most benign interpretation they used CTH as the other side of the_donald. But in reality they allowed the donald to fester much longer than us.
Reddit founders said removing reddit.com was their biggest mistake and it took them years to recover from it.
Where did they talk about that?
Did they admit that it was part of a larger abdication of content policy/moderation?
In thatnstart up talk where they admit they basically betrayed all their founding principles. They talk about their five biggest mistakes and that's one of them but they don't really go into it much because it's part of a larger list. Notably not on the list: allowing jailbait and creepshots to flourish for years.
they're so good at forgetting about the literal statue they presented to ViolentAcrez
if you have a link or more information about how to find it I'd be interested in seeing it.
Did they really? I thought they removed that one because it was the only subreddit that didn't have independent moderators, and being responsible for things is um, bad for business.. or something.
When did they say it was a mistake?
Synthesis:
Chapo can be like the old reddit, which had a main, /r/reddit, until they bizarrely banned it along with any similar generalist subreddits.
i almost feel like we can solve this by just making !traphouse@hexbear.net main and then everyone can just go back to shitposting for my entertainment.
I only made that post because when you said nevermind the t I removed the t in libertarian and my brain thought it suddenly became librarian
so I rolled with it
keep main for the chapo shit, keep the others cause maybe i wanna talk about other dumb shit with yall. but maybe we dont need too many segments.
Is this dude about to off himself by chucking some dynamite onto a grill?
Look at his face, if that's not the face of a suicidal man I don't know what is
Separating into comms will be useless as long as we can't block them. Or users.
Everything should to main, but needs a "Community" as well just so we can parse the categories as well/exclude things we don't want to see at the moment.
honestly that is absolutely the way it should be and trying to imitate the reddit layout with the current user base is a little off-kilter
I may not have won the struggle session, but I will maintain that keeping the bot and main is the most popular solution, as per the amount of upvotes. No, I will not let this go, and no I will not log off, stop asking me.
Remember when they got rid of Martin and the site kept crashing?
