The logic is remarkably similar. Thanks for proving Graeber's point.
mate, this take is equivalent to "you can't ask us to erode hierarchies because in doing so you create a hierarchy" and it puts you in opposition to revolution as a political goal. so what are you doing here? what are your goals? because they are not mine.
I came in interest after y'all got bounced from reddit. My goals are to destroy the concept of private property in the concrete and in the abstract to the greatest extent practicable, and encourage systems thinking as an aid to understanding the liberal mind so that we all can pith it more effectively and have some chance of an ideology not neoliberalism surviving the next 20 years.
I guess I need to log off until I finish this. That synthesis is harder to find than I expected.
haven't heard of that book before but I'll check it out. the thing I want to urge you away from is the notion that people are entitled to the ideas in their heads -- that they in some sense, possess them. with this step comes commodification and we should be fighting that snake every step of the way. moreover, the world as it exists today is violent and broken. it will take a lot of work and, yes, violence to undo that. proponents of queer feminism are not doing anything separate from what every revolutionary seeks to do -- get a foothold in the war of position in order to set the terms of the more material conflict.
