40% of americans will attend a thanksgiving event of over 10 people lol
in April and May we had all kinds of stories about how horrible it was to die on a ventilator never having been able to say goodbye to your loved ones. now they are covering it like the weather
It’s been normalized since the day people stopped banging pots and pans outside for the healthcare workers here in NYC.
The Christmas version of this map is going to be a deep festive red
I don’t know why, but you can literally see the outline of the Louisiana Purchase represented by Covid cases
The French and Anglos have a rivalry because they’ve been in competition since the dawn of time itself over who can be the most insufferable people on earth
There's no way the dakotas are giving up two senators and at least two electoral votes.
If anyone here isn't aware the entire reason the territory was split into two states in the first place was to give the Republicans more safe Senate seats in the late 19th century.
Precisely. They didn't split the Dakota territory into two states because of some political disagreement.
91% of ICU beds in north dakota are occupied right now and rising
We cancelled our Thanksgiving dinner, deer hunting, and Christmas gathering. It sucks, but my cousin has a lot of health problems and I'd like my grandparents to see me graduate college.
yeah without that cousin there's no hope for the next generation
sorry...deer hunting joke
You guys should just stay home and celebrate Wanksgiving instead
our family has opted out for a zoom meeting. at least I don't have to pretend like I don't have a drinking problem
Passing out on grandma's couch after saying you'll go slow on the wine is a time-honored tradition
I'm surprised how not-red the northeast is. Thanksgiving is kind of a Big Fucking Deal there.
Whys it so concentrated in the midwest? Shouldn't the south be red due to people down there not believing in covid enough either
cold up there and everyone in a 50 mile radius goes to the same grocery store and the same bar
I'm wondering this too. My only real guess is the cold, people eating at restaurants indoors and hanging out inside more.
It burned through the south and made its way up during the summer. Now it's been hurting people in the midwest.
If this is what they think thanksgiving will be, I fear what the holidays in December will look like, I have to assume I will be much worse, especially considering how fast the exponential growth works
My guess is Xmas gatherings are going to involve a lot more people crossing multiple state boundaries to see (geographically) distant relatives.
