I just smoked and the following is stream of consciousness frustration:

This fucking sucks ass. Love to see, "Uncontrolled Spread." It was so fucking manageable at the beginning. I'm so scared to see what happens if my kid gets this, being a diabetic. Nobody in his family is doing the bare minimum to prevent covid in their household, and I know it'll come over to my house as well. Hell, my dad, the super evangelical who believes that God protects him from getting covid despite being 63 and diabetic, has continued going to every thrift store and church 7 days a week, shaking hands and hugging people. I'll be so fucking pissed if when he catches it and gives it to me. He started coming down with cold symptoms on Friday.

I’m sorry for that. Do what you can to stay healthy. Take vit D, 4-5k IUs a day, get vit D tested if you can and keep your levels above 50 but under 100 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Todp-n9B_Cp2JKvgJSpbCZwXGQ2iQa-j35Kc-RXrHEI/

Shit I forgot about vitamin D. I got it tested a couple years ago and they said they rarely see such low counts. I'll pick some up tomorrow for me and my similarly-vampiric son.

Or just eat a can of sardines like smeagol once a day like a normal person.

IU means International Units, a unit used for meds. So this means 4000 to 5000 IU of vit D.

Also chances are you're not a doctor, but I'm having a hard time finding info on how long it'll take on supplements before we start building enough Vitamin D in our body. Do you have any info on this?

I take D3 and have regular blood work. I got a big jump in my levels taking D3 8000 IUs/ day after 60 days. And I could feel the difference (more energy and stamina). I maintain at 4000 IU per day. I take it with K2 (M4 & M7 formulation, but either work) to keep the calcium where it’s supposed to be (bones not arteries).

          Not a doctor.

Okay, cool, thanks for that, comrade! I read that 4000 is a lot, but I have an appointment on Wednesday with my caseworker so I'll ask her about getting a blood test set up.

Cool. If you are low (under 30), I’d start with 5000 IU and get tested again in 30-60 days.

10 mins in the noon day summer sun produces about 10,000 international units.
