Anti vaxxers are almost always suburbanites or wannabe suburbanites. No way they’d give their cushy lifestyle up for that shot, most they can do is picket on a street corner, and even then that’s too inconvenient for them

True but those were all psycho kids, they had no tangible connection to the lifestyle beyond their parents. If they would have grown up and gotten a home for themselves, they likely would have not carried out these acts.

One the one hand I agree, but on the other I feel like the COVID/Qanon crossover has brought in a new part of the population that is concerned about microchips and shit that may be deranged enough to do something drastic

Oh, yeah. Every job I've worked at has given me """"cost of living"""" increases that are like, 1.5% per year. Yeah, lot of good that does me when rent increases here are pegged (sorry, 'capped at', as if a landlord won't always charge the maximum legally allowed) to inflation + 2%. This year, almost no one got even that.

Jumping jobs every 18 months, even if you're happy with where you are, solely to make your wages keep making sense has been the norm in the computer science industry for decades. It's probably going to spread everywhere soon.

Hey! Another engineer. My salary got cut this year and it's still not back to where it was. So, combined with inflation, doing worse than I should be.

I said this to a friend awhile ago but we're overdue for another 9/11 or okc style bombing. I just feel it's coming somehow.

I'm honestly kind of surprised there's never been a major attack on the insanely packed space right before the TSA checkpoint where everyone is funneled into just a few scanners with hardly any security outside.

Like their security theater performance just makes another huge soft target.

Airport security is too miserable. Attackers want to disrupt life and make it worse. That’s why movie theatres, concerts, and nightclubs get targeted. (And schools because dead kids are horrific.)

The TSA checkpoints? I reckon most people there are wishing for death anyway.

      Thanks Dante.

On a side note I find Luke Smith very interesting as he seems to be one of those AnCaps who would get it if he wasn't so deep in the social reactionary/4Chan bubble.
