Lmao I voted for Kanye too. His vp is a nut job but whatever not like they'd actually win. He was the only non rapist and non libertarian on my ballot so an obvious choice really

I don't know what they actually did in the voting booth, but there were a lot of people in here scolding others for not buying the "Biden harm reduction" argument (lol).

That's sucks. I don't think a biden admin will actually be harm reduction. Obviously some things will be marginally better but it's be a net zero

some things will be marginally better

I can't help but feel like I'm being hopelessly cynical when I say it, but I just can't bring myself to believe even this much. I would need to believe that the president is willing or able to do something like, for example, declaring the ICE camps a humanitarian crisis on day 1 and bringing in a non-police agency like FEMA or something to take over and start pairing kids with their parents ASAP while also providing follow-up counseling and reparation payments. That's some fucking harm reduction. As it is I believe 100% that the business of the past four years will simply continue exactly as it has been but the media will stop being so incensed about it.

Right, I think some things will be better, some things will be worse, and people will point to the marginally better things and go "SEE?! HARM REDUCTION."

The reason why I don't buy it is that the longterm effects of a Biden presidency are going to be very bad for the left. Probably worse than under Trump, although that would never be enough of an impetus for me to vote for Trump either. I just accepted this was a useless election and waited to see who my enemy was.

it was actually hurting my relationship with my family :( so i did, and then told them they had to vote the way i requested in every single local/statewide race/measure.

feels like shit but at least i got something out of it.

The "push left" they were talking about actually meant loading up the progressive agenda in a word processor and pressing the backspace key repeatedly lol

"Trump was the harm reduction candidate" is just a dumber version of "Biden is the harm reduction candidate".

The "harm reduction" talk was stupid as hell about both of them.

Trump on one hand was just defunding the federal government and trying his hardest to bankrupt it like he has done all of his businesses by being a dumbass.

Biden on the other hand is a deficit hawk and will be the austerity president. He's paired with the absolute most authoritarian figure the DNC ran in the primaries and they'll both further extend our authoritarian police state.

Both of them were going to accelerate us closer to fascism. The only real question was who pushes us to it at a faster pace. One thing we can say for sure though is that Biden absolutely will put the pedal to the metal and get us there in the near future.

I can barely remember the primaries either, but Bloomberg got several thousands of people to vote for him.

That is fucking scary. Not only is she incredibly smug, but how she handled COVID was a disaster.

Wager all bets on Republicans retaking the House in 2022 and our future fascist dictator coming out of the GOP in 2024.

Okay okay we all know that meritocracy is actually bullshit, democratic party doesn't believe in it and the whole party is a jobs programme for upward failures

But how does the party base is deal with this shit while bitching about Trump's "not qualified" appointments?

Liberals love their party. That's really the difference between them and conservatives. We heard this same stuff about the current Republican president being the worst ever and needing to be voted out back in 2004 with Bush.

Libs will vote blue no matter who and come up with all these mental gymnastics to put their brains through to rationalize when the Democratic party shits the bed and don't do anything for them besides being slightly better than the other party. They're about to spent the next year justifying and defending all of Biden's austerity measures.

Voted PSL, will only vote PSL. If PSL isn't on the ballot and a green is, I'll vote green. If a green isn't on the ballot and a democrat is, my worms need a layer of moistened paper on their composter.

I don't know why the government is paying out billions of dollars in contracts out to SpaceX to move payloads into orbit when they could just give CAP a few million to move the same payload 6 feet lower and achieve the same result.
