Edit: So I just assumed this was about a teen wanting to take puberty blockers without parental permission. But if I'm reading this right, this just straight-up bans them for children under 16, regardless if both the child and parent are on board. Not that I think a parent should have the right to stop it anyway.

Yep. It is as bad as it sounds and a really terrible moment for trans children. Kids will die because of this. Every bit of support for the appeal must be provided.

Banning the only form of treatment for precocious puberty, a pretty significant medical issue, because A Tran might touch it. Yes this is very normal and definitely rooted in health concerns and isn't at all malicious, why do you ask?

The decision also had some... incredibly alarming phrasing in it, suggesting a "wider review of future gender identity services" - this is just step 1 of making transition entirely illegal. This also overrides Gillick competence, meaning abortion access for under-16s is now also back in question.

This is an absolute fucking disaster, it cuts much deeper than it first looks. :ukkk: :ukkk: :ukkk: :ukkk:

I have said it before and I will say it again. Postal bombing will make a comeback if they try this. They have no idea how fucking angry and militant people are now in the UK trans community.

Pushing a crowd of militant socialists and anarchists with various mental health issues over the edge when they are literally suicidal is a really REALLY bad fucking idea.

The kids aren't going to retaliate because they're just poor kids that need help and haven't learned shit yet. But in the adults? Things will get really wild if they keep going at this.

I hear people saying they are uncomfortable with kids taking hormones, and these are for that purpose. People want to just be cruel to trans people. TERF Island sucks. Break it up. Solidarity with the trans community of the UK.

If you're too young to consent to delaying puberty, how the fuck can you be old enough to consent to undergoing puberty

So I need to ask, if I used my card to pay for something that uses a different currency, how does that work?

Depends specifically on your bank I believe. For me in the UK it used to tack on an exchange cost but I haven't seen one of those in years, our banks are probably eating the cost or something.
