I love how the Jeremy Corbyn character is somehow both a Trot and a Maoist, two tendencies that famously get along well.

I mean she called her one token Asian Hogwarts student Cho Chong. She's got a bit of a habit for doing zero research whatsoever.

It is absolutely amazing how silent Labour is to any bigotry if it spoken from a rich enough mouth.

Yeah it is. I mean I know fuck all about Chinese naming customs etc. But if I were writing a story and wanted to include a chinese character I would do some basic research and not pick a name that sounds like a character from a deeply unfunny racist comedy show circa 1970

And they put her in the smart person house

And she later stabs them in the back because she just can't get over her urge to be obedient to authority

Oh, well my memory of the books isn't very good I guess. I'll make up other shit while I'm at it, at one point she looks directly into the camera and tells the audience that Radio Free Asia is the only trustworthy source on news in China.

This is what we call left unity. All tendencies united together, in one old man fucking in a bathroom.

I don't recall Harry Potter's prose being that painful. Geez, was the Casual Vacancy and her other adult books the turning point where her prose goes bad or something?

i think maybe part of it is the subject matter.

"... find harry," ron bellowed in hermiones ear, pressing a wand into her hand, [as] they edged out of the room again into rons own bedroom, which seemed even smaller than it really was because every inch of the walls and ceiling had been covered in magical flyers and posters, the orange of idksomewizardshit and the black and red of broomsticksportballteam predominating.

when youre reading about wizards zippity zapping each other with big red sparkles, you tend to be a bit more forgiving of the language

Maybe I didn't notice when I was younger, but this was very poorly written

At the risk of sounding like an insufferable lib, I think it's the hate.

Whatever your opinion on Harry Potter, it was a labour of love you know? Something she wanted to write and create and share these characters with the world.

With this garbage it's all driven by this weird grubby hatred that seems to have more or less become who she is. Crafting of language, syntax, plot, all the character development takes a back seat to all that bile so it all suffers and the only thing left is a window into the diseased mind of a liberal terf.

This might be the most brain-wormed book ever written. Grievances against socialists, plastinians, trans-people and hezbollah(?). When I was a kid Harry Potter was my favorite book-series. What a disaster

Rowling's downfall is kinda fascinating... I hope she keeps getting more and more ridiculous. Maybe even libs will wake-up to how much of a shit human she is

Most libs I know think she's bad ever since the terf stuff last year. I mean it wasn't the first time she did terf stuff but I guess that one stuck.

It's wild because you just need to have read her shitty books to realize she has some weird fucking beliefs, but I guess people were blinded by nostalgia.

I think it broke her brain that nobody gave a fuck about what she wrote after Harry Potter. No matter how much she whines about being cancelled etc., she definitely prefers being hated over being ignored. As long as she gets admiration from her new TERF friends, she'll keep going like this.

You know, I've read the HP books within the last 5 years (pls no reeducation camp) and I don't remember her writing being this awful and stilted. I guess it's really true that hate and bigotry rots your brain.

Yeah, they are not terribly written but also would never win an award of excellence in literature.
The stuff in that tweet looks much worse to me. Might be that now she's trying to appeal to adults and spread her shitty ideology while also not being good enough at writing to pull it off.

The people with the real talent were her editors for HP. The books get worse as they go - the more control (and ego) she has, the worse the final product.

Who the fuck would have Billy Bragg's Internationale as a ringtone?

It's the Stalin era Soviet Anthem, the 1793 lyrics of Ah! Ca Ira!, A Las Barricades for our anarchist comrades or GTFO
