I like how the first 11 installments in the madden series had John Madden just chillin' like a dang goofball on every cover. Fuck cover athletes, bring back John
I know nothing about sports ball but is there any reason besides money for making an entirely seperate game every year instead of just patching in new team rosters?
No. As someone who's played an unhealthy amount of Madden, that's literally it.
They'll sell it on "new features and improved graphics/animation," but the new features are actually features that were in the game four years ago that they inexplicably took out, and the improved graphics/animation are marginal improvements at best (that still leave glaring flaws in gameplay).
The yearly sports release became a tradition before patching was a widespread thing, and they'll keep doing it as long as it makes more money.
I mean in NBA2k they change the jumpshot mechanic about every 2 years so... I N N O V A T I O N
Can someone who likes FIFA explain the appeal to me? The game seems to basically play itself, the casters are repetitive and the licensed music gets really irritanting after a while.
I tried asking both my roomate that buys a new one every year and my little bro but they didn't really have an explanation, they just liked it .
Is there more to the gameplay I'm missing? Is it like playing a subpar licensed game because you like the thing it was based on? (that would kind of make sense, I'm not into sportsball)
That makes a lot of sense. It's really not that different from me sinking a lot of time in MTGA to build some janky combo decks.
Microtransactions and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
except next year your collection becomes worthless and you gotta pay 70 bucks to get the new version only to start from scratch again and purchase the same cards again
