I'm pretty sure that even though reddit has been around for like ten years and has grown in size and in breadth of topics, it's still mostly dudes in their teens and early twenties who are either STEM students/grads, or who have no formal education. You would be hard pressed to find a group of people with less knowledge of history.

And the strangest part to me is that there are graphic photos out there of dead bodies from either side (some people were killed in the skirmish, that's no secret). But les brave redditors still insist on using the tamest possible photo to prove how evil Chyna is.
They actually love to claim that as being inside the square, with virtually no context clues in the image to support that so its just pure conjecture from propaganda.

That particular subreddit is by far one of the most astroturfed subs on reddit, which is saying a lot. I see so many of the same posts with the same top comments and so many obvious ads. I had to block that sub cause, no, I don't think any of that shit is interesting as fuck.

Well i'm glad he had no doubt despite not actually seeing any death at any time. (IMO - i have no proof either way - some civilians most likely were killed, but probably not massacre style)
tl;dr - some civilains might have been killed (bad) but it definitely wasn't just a bunch of soliders firing on civlians for no reason or without provocation. It seems like the killings weren't even in Tianamon square itself. And.. literally might not have even happened.
