do any of you?
moved to the PNW with the express purpose of getting into the great outdoors. It was all it has been hyped up to be.
I'm on the dry half of Washington, I love the PNW I don't think I could live anywhere else, maybe Maine or Vermont but I'd still rather be here
We should hang out. I'm on the wet side but we could meet in the middle.
Hopefully I can get it by this summer. I'm "essential" but not a healthcare worker.
dude I wanna go to school out there pretty much for that reason
You just need to get into mushroom hunting. Then you'll get excited when the rains come.
yea just did 10 days on the AT in august. great time. trying to do some snow hiking this winter
same man did just over ten days in maine this summer, great people out on the trail
used to do hella backpacking then i moved and tried to go alone a few times. camping/backpacking alone is 😪
I'm like a border collie, I always have to have a job to do, so backpacking with doofuses keeps me busy
It's one of my favorite things. Lots of childhood nostalgia for it, as well as a deeper adult appreciation of the outdoors as an adult. It's good all around. Even shitty camping stories, like the time it rained all weekend, turn into fun stories with a little time.
Plus its fun to sit around a fire and talk with friends and loved ones, or lean back and star watch far from city lights.
Eagle Cap in the Wallowas in Oregon is heaven on Earth, the most beuatiful place I've ever seen by far. Pictures really don't do it justice
I really got into hiking this year after the COVID lockdowns. Was never much of an outdoors person before. I took a solo road trip out to the Smokies a few weeks ago and it was amazing.
I’ve never been camping or backpacking though, but now I absolutely want to go.
Damn, that’s awesome. What was the first trail you thru-hiked? I’m dreaming about building up to a thru-hike eventually, but I figure I’ll stick to day hikes and dip my toes into car camping at some point before trying out backpacking.
Really want to get into mountain biking too. And now I’ve got a passing interest in rock climbing. Honestly I’m finding myself just wanting to do all the outdoor things.
I like hiking but not camping. I just miss my nice comfy bed and shower and flushing toilet too much
