C/TAYLORSWIFT IS HERE MY BABES & SWIFTIES!!

—-

obligatory copypasta:

Taylor Swift is more than a musician. she is the voice of a generation. She is an idea, a world-historical heroine, light itself.

When people told me they hated Taylor Swift or (far worse) that they were "not swifties," I wish I had said in no uncertain terms: "I love Taylor Swift. I am in awe of her. I am set free by her. She will be the finest worldwide superstar our galaxy has ever seen."

I wish, in those exchanges, I had not asked gentle, tolerant questions about a hater's ridiculous allergy to her, or Taytay’s fictional misdeeds and imagined character flaws. More deeply still, I wish I had not reasoned with anyone, patiently countered their ludicrous emotionalism and psychologically disturbed theories.

I wish I had said, flatly, "I love her. I am gay as fuck for Taylor Swift. I am a big fat dyke for Gaylor.” As if I had been asked about my girlfriend or Fletcher. No defensiveness or polemics; not dignifying the crazy allegations with so much as a Gawker or PinkNews link.

Potential comm rules:

  1. Post must be about taylor swift
  2. No sexualizing / objectifying
  3. Photos of Taylor Swift with socialist quotes overtop of them are encouraged (especially if feminism related)
  4. Gaylor speculation welcome.

oh hell yes, that Swiftie update account is one of my heroes. going to jail instead of joining the IDF is literally praxis.

if they make me a mod of the comm do you want to also be a mod??

I have mixed feelings about it, Better Than Revenge was always very petty and kinda bitchy, but that's what it's about. We like the song for its emotional honesty, and you could argue that the internalized misogyny of it was part of what made it relatable, especially to a lot of girls who listened to it. Girls are probably slut shamed more often by other girls than by men.

Like, Better Than Revenge is not a song with deep meaning or an inspirational message, it's a song about how some stupid hoe stole your man and how much of an annoying, fake-ass bitch that girl is. That's why people connect to it, because even though it's not a particularly "valuable" message, a lot of people have felt similarly at one point or another and can relate to what Taylor expresses in the song. And if she wants to amend that by not calling said stupid bitch a slut, then I totally get that, but the song was never about being a good person anyway.

Could we not? Didn't she recently date some racist idiot, and also dated a highschooler as an adult? It's not irrational hatred to be against that kind of thing.

she dumped Matty Healy pretty much immediately once those recordings of him on cumtown got brought up. he was saying racist shit about one of Taylor’s friends and long time collaborators too, which was especially gross. Taylor needs to just come out already and stop using garbage men as beards.

You’re right that cumtown is awful and racist. I have the same opinion of them that I do of that trash fuck Matty Healy. Unfunny show.

Haven’t heard anything about that, but frankly unsurprised since Matty Healy is awful and not a good person. Hating that ratfuck is pretty much a cannon opinion amongst swifties as well.

yes, now imagine channeling the power of swifties for establishing communism

      sicko-fem

Also need to consider volcel-judge before starting this

anyone attempting to sexualize or objectify taylor would need to be immediately banned from the comm and then executed.

      Also she is bourgeoisie

Taylor Swift is a chaotic bisexual dengist establishing productive forces through mass redistribution of profit sharing to all workers during her Eras tour

The gross earnings of her Eras tour is above $1 bil. While that won't be her net earnings, I'm going to assume its going to be a much bigger number than the 55 mil she's giving to her workers. While it is nice that she's doing this, its not much different to other philanthropy billionaires do to avoid scrutiny.

Swifties are lost in the spectacle, they will replace communism with Taylor Swift

As a Swiftie, I uphold communism first, Taylor Swift second. While TSwift might seem vapid at first blush, a closer examination of Taylor’s career reveals a hidden agenda that aligns shockingly well with the principles of socialism, drawing inspiration from both Deng Xiaoping's pragmatic reforms and the revolutionary spirit of Maoism.

Swift may not be marching in the streets with a red flag, but her music has had more than one Red era. USSR

Taylor Swift's highly publicized battles with record labels and streaming platforms provide another lens through which we can view her alignment with socialist principles.

Her fight for fair compensation for all artists in an industry dominated by corporate interests mirrors the struggle for workers' rights that is central to socialist ideology. Swift's courage in challenging industry giants is akin to the audacity of those who dared to confront capitalist exploitation and publicly execute landlords, but with music rights instead of landlords.

          cat-vibing mao-aggro-shining

Socialism places great importance on unity and solidarity among citizens, and Taylor Swift's ability to connect with a diverse fan base is a testament to her role as a unifying figure. Through her music and actions, she encourages people from various backgrounds to come together in support of common causes like queer rights & killing your fucking landlord, fostering a sense of community reminiscent of revolutionary communist ideals. This unity, bridging the gap between Deng Xiaoping's pragmatism and Maoism's revolutionary spirit, is a reflection of her unique influence.

It's not just Taylor Swift's music and activism that align with socialism; it's her influence on public discourse. In an era marked by growing income inequality throughout the imperial core, her songs and public statements challenge the status quo and inspire her audience to consider alternative social and economic systems that prioritize the welfare of all. This blend of Deng's pragmatic approach and Maoist call for revolutionary change shapes the narrative for a more equitable world.

          deng-cowboy

The next time you listen to a Taylor Swift song, consider the possibility that you're not just enjoying catchy jams but also absorbing the subliminal message of social change and solidarity, blending the paths of Deng Xiaoping and Maoism in a unique synthesis.

          maybe-later-kiddo effective altruism!!!!

Either "there's no such thing as a good billionaire" or there is. However, we all like some billionaire. What are we supposed to do, sit in a cave and carve the walls up for entertainment?

This is a tough one. None of this is to say I'm against a comm. I can just keep scrolling, unlike the jackasses that just can't let something they don't like go by.

Most swifties I've.met are anti capitalist. Maybe a new pipeline opened?

I do think this Taylor comm is a funny idea but

However, we all like some billionaire.

I can't think of a single billionaire I don't hate. When I was a youth I thought Bill Gates and JK Rowling werealright but then Bill Gates turned out to be a Lolita Express riding charter school promoting vaccine gatekeeping freak, and JK Rowling is such a disgusting TERF that she's retweeting pro-Taliban takes.

            I don't like some billionaire.

I'm not sure where you got the idea I was being very serious at any point during this interaction

no one's asking you to deadname, nor was the 'argument' up to this point in any way serious... 4 tours across multiple social media platforms and a nothing burger are not serious statements, I was just being a windup.
