Bottom 3 for me would be "nobody: not anyone: not a single person:", Pewdiepie "and that's a fact", and of course, My Little Pogchamp. Discuss.
e: After careful consideration, I am willing to swap My Little Pogchamp with All "Go Brrr" Memes That Were Not Money Printer.
The PCM subreddit as a whole. Funny how when you make a subreddit tolerant of Nazis that it ends up full of Nazis.
The jreg arc was its peak and even they saw where it was going and made their own subreddit.
it's where people go to normalize fascism and nazism. truly one of the biggest reactionary hell holes on this entire god forsaken planet. so many lib larpers too. just nothing redeemable
YES I fucking hate that "nobody: " meme. It's barely even a fucking meme, you can just add it on to anything you want to say.
I fuggin hate the nobody meme, because it's always the top comment on every youtube video and the punchline is always just anything that happened. So that gets my vote.
it's not a 2020 thing but also those comments on youtube vids like, "who is listening to this in <current year> still?"
Same as last year, that fallout [everybody liked that] meme just fills me with incandescent rage every time I see it
that show was so bizarre how many people took a side who was in the right or wrong when they were both fucking awful people. never understood how many ppl sympathized with either of them, especially joe exotic cause he and his crew were on camera abusing the animals plus the cages are extremely small and he breeds them for profit.
but that part where someone put meat or something in his pants leg was insane, genuinely surprised he didn't loose his whole leg though
hot take: this is functionally identical to the well loved "fuck around and find out"
Yeah but "fuck around and find out" doesn't get any Taylor Swift songs stuck in my head
It'd be cool if it did tho 🤔
Eh, I get that it's a meme but to be fair most people making any kind of music are broke. But the successful ones - including a lot of the indie acts that made it big even from 10-15 years ago - are trust fund kids. Off the top of my head, arcade fire comes from oil money and Mumford and sons includes the son of a br*tish hedge fund manager worth close to a billion pounds iirc
Big club, you're not in it, etc, etc
Yep, even "High art" genres. Average Soloist Opera Singer earns near or below minimum wage in just about every country you can think of. Chorus usually earns slightly more.
Yeah finding out most of the musicians in my nearest big city symphony work second jobs despite being world-renowned players was insanely depressing
Fuck around and find out quickly got co-opted by literally all sides. Leftists, chuds, libs, they all say it. It’s just cliche and grating now whenever I see it.
5'2 woman throws water on huge dude who instantly turns round and punches her in the face, knocking her to the ground
"Haha, equal rights, equal lefts" 😏
"My little pogchamp" was good. I want a hug from Ryuko Matoi.
I checked KYM to refresh my memory but I don't know any of this shit. I'm going to nominate as Worst of 2020 the continued degeneration of Wojak, but it's no worse than we deserve.
it's okay you don't like good memes, you'll always be my little pogchamp <3
I've been really sick of Wojak derivatives for a while and it doesn't look like it will ever stop.
Rage comics were at least, for the most part, made with light-hearted intent. Now we have righties appropriating wojak en masse (e.g. soyjak).
They literally always have been, it's just rage comics evolving to a new form
I don’t think it came out this year, but I’m still seeing Gru presentation memes, so that’s my worst meme of the year
i especially hate low-effort recreations of it with other things. they're always bad and make me dumber for having looked at them
