This phenomenon sucks and is terrifying, although it was considerably lessened for me personally this year. Idk this is just my experience but covid seemed to stretch out the year a bunch. The times when I could just like go see a movie or go to a restaurant seem like distant memories now even though it was less than a year ago. Sorry that my experience wasn't universal though, time is fucking terrifying and i wish it would just leave us all alone.

It's forever and an instant at the same time and it fucking sucks.

this is exactly my experience. the boredom makes each moment feel like an eternity, yet the lack of events to mark the passage of time means it feels like nothing.

This. The two weeks I spent with three of my friends doing a cross country road-trip back in 2018 felt like an neverending saga (by the end of the first week we were already at eachother's necks 24/7 lmao 10/10 would do again) whereas the uh..two years I've spent at my current job have flown by relatively quickly in comparison due to me spending every day at home working for eight hours wanting to die.

oh honey, you already sort of have died. capitalism is hell. this isn't just a hyperbolic metaphor.

you have given up your life, even if your heart's still beating. don't feel too bad; there's no way to not anymore, the only question is whether the blood keeps flowing.

yeah but this death only makes me long for the real unending death

you think this ends? it doesn't end. it just stops including you. stops letting you update others, stops updating you. stops processing that is 'you'.

it doesn't end, and you're not really more dead after, if you're mired as deep in capitalism as most people I know.

Although some of my friends have uh done some questionable things these last few months which has been made more questionable by the fact that they are all in medical school.

    So that's cool

idk doctors can be huge douches and idiots too. there was one surgeon for trans srs down in florida who was really well known among the trans community and he suddenly decided to post a video of him playing with someone's flayed open balls mid srs like theyre fun little toys while saying transphobic things. without the person's permission.

he obviously got fired and disbarred and had his degree revoked lost his practitioners insurance and got sued to hell but still, imagine how much of that shit he got away with around nurses without it getting proper consideration until it became a publicity nightmare. imagine how many surgeries he purposefully botched

because everyone else would fuck it up & not do it safely

Haha strong disagree, they're a fucking mess and there's a reason why in some places the rates of covid spiked amongst medical practitioners

We still can't even get hospital wide routine handwashing to survive an audit lol

Idk, they're packing into tiny apartments and cars together and they all go to different schools/hospitals.
