I think of her as a social democrat chauvanist opportunist who people vicariously enjoy her callouts and rebukes and commentaries on American economic life, political anemia, and then its dysfunctional modus operandi to address the problems od the public.
It is good she is there, but because there is no strong and organized social movement, she is largely delegated to platform social welfare policies and other political highlights.
She is not the vanguare or harbinger of what the future holds. But she is probably the best the US can produce in highlighting internal contradictions
On the more serious side, I've actually been trying to avoid labeling people/things with value judgements of "good" or "bad", and rather restrict that language to actions.
AOC is a good person - it’s her actions that are good/bad. Yes this is a binary meme. No, there is no middle ground. No I will not be taking questions
Edit: expanding on this, another thing to keep in mind is that she is young, and deserves some slack. I absolutely would not have been able to pull myself together and juggle all the stress and decisions at age 30, much less with the amount of spotlight.
Politicians are not our friends. It is not your job to be emotionally supportive towards her (it is the same as libs simping over Obama). She has friends who are there for her. It is a far more healthy attitude to be contemptuous towards elected officials at least it keeps you vigilant.
