i haven’t actually read the studies, so is this modern phrenology?
that's essentially how I view any of that dumb shit like "hair-whorl patterns on gay heads are more likely to go counterclockwise" or "gay men and lesbians are significantly more likely to be left-handed or ambidextrous than non-gay men and women". It always is sourced back to some crackpot psychologist or some equally dumb shit like a participant-reported telephone survey.
Yeah, I mean there's some grains of maybe-truth with respect to "maybe some prenatal hormone exposure, which influences the ratios of these bones, also similarly influences some brain chemistry" but then it's pretty much like, if you look at the left column, mostly just describing someone with ADHD.
so here's the source they use https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2626753/
they got 44 traders and measured their profits and losses along with their digit ratios and apparently the lower the digit ratio the more likely you are to have a higher income, and be in trading for longer. no idea whether it's actually a good study or if it's inherently flawed because of sample sizes or the way they choose subjects or whatever though. you'll need someone smarter than me for that lol.
simplified version of the study would just be "testosterone equals big brain, and the more there is the bigger the brain"
sorry, but to work here you must take a mandatory testosterone test to determine whether your risk taking abilities are high enough for us. standard procedure
according to studies, a low index-to-ring finger ratio is correlated with being a lesbian
i haven't actually read the studies, so is this modern phrenology? who knows, but i have a super low digit ratio and the left column is eerily accurate lmao
(tbf I feel like half the left column is just various symptoms of ADHD and ASD)

measuring my date's fingers to see if his dick's big enough
EDIT: "Reduced financial trading ability" shit this explains everything
how do they even measure that

A sample size of 44
:michael-laugh:
Ah good, don't mind me getting out my finger calipers to choose my stock broker
