1917 was when people did things and believed things and the more we believe things and do things the more like 1917 it is

This is just like 1917, a clash of political, moral, economic and social ideologies all rolled into one.

wow, David -- what an astute historical observation!

To me it seems that they want to seize on the well-established anti-communism within American society by drawing parallels between the GOP and the Bolsheviks.
Doesn't matter if there's any truth to these similarities or not as long as they invoke the fear red scare propaganda has instilled.

And also they generally want to keep people dumb and politically illiterate. Anything that confuses the poors is good.

So this is gonna be the basis of a potential Biden adminstation attack on venez/cuba/nicarag/bolivia/china/iran/russia.

What's the best way to visualise this kind of media manipulation? A google word count of mentions of communism/lenin with Qanon/maga over the next 6 months/past 6months? I always found them good for pointing out how consent is manufactured.

Privacy-wise they are a fuck, but for a quick visualization of an obvious media campaign, their "word count over time" tool is probably useful for highlighting the existence of the campaign.

Is there a better open source tool btw?

Wasn’t there a concerted effort by (a small number of) libertarians around the 60s or 70s to study Lenin and adapt certain tactics, ie vanguardism, to further their political power? Rothbard comes to mind, I think from a Trueanon episode (I know they can embellish things a bit so maybe this is overblown).

These articles are obviously some red scare shit, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find that right wing shitheads took tactics lessons from Lenin; whatever the case, they were obviously very successful.

I don’t think trump has studied anything though, so that’s obviously bullshit

The modern conservative movement learned their organizing tactics (ie mobilizing people at the right times, manipulating parliamentary procedure, taking over powerful organizations from within) from the CPUSA

The level of political illiteracy in these people is absolutely infuriating.

let's not drive out our anarchist comrades and our would-be comrades who are on their way but are still :LIB:s too readily, after all, if this site is for agitprop and left-unity we need to actually let some people who interested in marxist ideas, but are still hanging on to their shitlib tendencies, in so that they can get told that they're a shitlib and then ordered to read some dense book of theory by some guy online who probably lives in the sewers and is posting while preparing to mail semtex to jeff bezos's address. For a slightly less dense book (actually just a short essay) of theory consider reading this.

Lenin did "politics" and was mean to liberals. That's it's. That's the connection they see.

to start? im an anarchist. he and trotsky got up to some shit. also, he fucked up in some very predictable ways I could have pointed out at age 14 that kept the USSR from being truly classless and arguably lead to its downfall.

he was deeply problematic, fucked up with not making the USSR as free or classless as it could have been. as far as dudes from that time period go; yeah he was pretty great, but he was wrong about a lot of things, and generally "fuck you" to everyone dead before 1970, with very very sparse exceptions
