They literally gave Manchuria the fascist Japanese colonial flag. This shit is so thinly veiled it’s wearing fishnet

        the fascist Japanese colonial flag

They even failed to do that, because the four bars should be in the top left of a field of yellow. It's a particularly cringe mistake, because the yellow of the five colors represents the Manchu!

EDIT: Like, using the "Five-colored flag" as a theme for a balkanized China makes no sense. The entire point of that flag is uniting Han, Mongols, Manchu, Uyghers, and Tibetans together.

Imagine believing the Kuomintang libs would have given Uyghurs the right to self-determination, and wouldn't do even worse and more obviously genocidal shit to them than whatever the CPC is doing.

I worked in an archive once and processed some KMT chud's files — literally tons of 1950s newspaper clippings of "How dare commies establish 'Uyghur autonomous region' int Xinjiang — THAT'S A PRELUDE TO SELF-DETERMINATION AND SEPARATISM!!" Oh imagine the meltdown.

Most everyone agrees on one point: Libya should not be casting stones. "Is the U.N. going to listen to a long-standing democracy or to a long-standing dictatorship?" Eduard Hediger, 19, asked in a recent Le Matin podcast. If Gaddafi's long-winded speech to the General Assembly is any indication, the U.N. may not have much of a choice in the matter.

When you miss the entire point

Counterproposal: Balkanize Switzerland and then Balkanize the resulting countries once more.

Balkanize every country until we're back to the old city state days and then everyone gets confused into socialism somehow.

a Geneva resident wrote that he doesn't want his region to be annexed to France and asked about the possibility of linking it to French-speaking Quebec instead.

Great bit, they see Gaddafi's proposal and come up with Quebecois Western Switzerland as the compromise?

In August 2009, Hannibal Gaddafi [Muammar's son] stated that if he had nuclear weapons, he would "wipe Switzerland off the map".

edit: holy shit it gets better

In February 2010, Gaddafi called for an all-out Jihad against Switzerland in a speech held in Benghazi on the occasion of Mawlid. Gaddafi in reference to the Swiss ban on minarets described Switzerland as an "infidel harlot"

It’s even funnier that they gave all of that land to Mongolia and Manchukuo despite the fact that the majority of the population residing there is Chinese.

Fuck the nation state but that does seem like an even WORSE idea to me lol

Folks, I've said it before, I'll say it again: the ROC doesn't claim Mongolia anymore. They recognized Mongolia as an independent state in 2002, and in the process also gave up their claims on Tuva. Which I believe means that they just claim the PRC and the disputed territories the PRC also claims, so certainly not 'vastly more land'. The ROC's claims are a joke nowadays, but there's no excuse to be inaccurate.
