I'm a westerner and this is very insulting. I am perfectly capable of making myself afraid without the aid of communist China. If you doubt my resolve, know that it rained tonight and I spent a considerable amount of time worrying that I might get wet. I live on the bottom floor of a five story building. Me and dozens of other people would be dead from the building collapse before it is physically possible for me to get damp from the rain. Do you think that stopped me? No. I am a western man. My fear is made of steel.

Apparently posted, or reposted(?), on weibo by user 帽子载缝苏菲 (or on a meme page with that name? Not familiar with chinese social media) - Sophie Hatter from Howl's Moving Castle.

Not only are Chinese weebs more politically-informed and better posters than their western counterparts, it seems they also have better tastes in anime. miyazaki-laugh

yeah this is actually a huge group, it includes all the American GOP anti-ukraine people who still want to fund Israel. It also includes most of India and maybe some of the more reactionary people in China even. Russia used to have very close ties to Israel and a lot of Israeli citizens are dual Israel-Russia citizenship.

The group I doubt the size of is top-left, although there's probably a good chunk of western radlibs in there.

Yea, the average Indian silicon valley tech bro/BJP supporter. They support Russia because of India's strong relationship and history of support during famines

      And they hate Muslims

I'm not making this shit up I talk to a lot of Indian silicon valley tech workers

It's correct that if you oppose amerikkka and understand the geopolitical context, you'll be in the top right, so that quadrant makes sense in the context of those who oppose amerikkka.

It's also basically a gigachad meme, so I think it's meant to be self-flattering. xigma-male

I promise I'm the one good anti-war guy, not this compass's definition of "anti-war" though

I used to have fantasies as a kid where the soldiers on both sides of an imagined conflict refused to keep shooting. Then I thought about the political situation it would cause and that the former combatants would need protection from third parties to not get executed for desertion, which made me realize that a cessation of warfare would have to be an international effort, yadda yadda yadda hello communism

EDIT: okay also I'd like to point out I was imagining something like a proxy war in these fantasies, I'm not opposed to anti-colonial uprisings at all

Just look at the christmas truce in WW1. The officers had to move the soldiers to other battles so they would be willing to kill again.

No idea which comments you're talking about, but maybe they just disagree with you? Just repeating the same stuff isn't necessarily going to convince someone - is reciting Leninist theory supposed to be a magic spell to force people to agree with you? If you think it's impossible for somebody to be a communist and oppose Russia in the war, you live in an online bubble.
