"Someone who believes in climate change", not "Somebody who would do anything about climate change". Libs literally wishing death on people because they didn't elect somebody to do the right virtue signalling

Libs really need to understand that it doesn't matter what Biden the man believes in, Biden the president believes in whatever his donors tell him to because that's his job (this applies to all other US politicians as well of course)

Understanding that would make them not libs. Liberals fundamentally believe that the system just needs the right people in power and things will run smoothly. Therefor Biden simply believing in climate change is enough, because it is outside the liberal's conceptual framework that an intelligent, "well intentioned" bureaucrat could do nefarious shit.

Iron Man 2 literally has the line "I privatized world peace" and is met with applause. The first one is slightly more subtle, but essentially hammers the point home that billionaires will save you.

This implies that they might be aware that centrist Dems aren't doing anything about climate change. Are they that cynical or do they naively believe that caring/believing = doing? 🤔 I can't tell

I'm coming to the belief that many liberals don't think things can really get much better, so stuff like acknowledgement and "feeling bad in the right way" are important to them because they think that's the best you can do with many of these issues.

I think it's related to the general political impotence people feel all over, the same impulse that makes people post political shit as though it's praxis. If you feel powerless, you maybe need to read more meaning into ultimately insignificant gestures to feel hope or whatever.

I think it's subconscious. For them politics is disconnected from material change so it's all about the identity/ personality/ opinions/ whatever of the politician, rather than what they actually do

Liberals love to own the republicans by their own logic, so they see republicans ignore people's suffering and are throwing it back at them, disregarding the fact that, you know, ignoring people's suffering is horrible

Umm, excuse me sweaty Biden rejoining the Paris Climate Accord not only made the news after he won election, but but also at his inauguration, and once again this week after the impeachment amounted to nothing. They always come in threes!

Oh but "believing" in climate change gets you nowhere, the thing is actually doing something about it. Even Trump knows climate change is real, but since he's a pro-coal/oil industry capitalist he doesn't give a single fuck about it.

Just to use and weaponise their own logic against this liberal bullshit here, what about the 75% of black Texans who voted for the Democratic party? Do they deserve to die too? Must they just :vote: harder despite overwhelmingly voting for democrats and constantly being voter suppressed and disenfranchised? Hell, what about the 40% of Texans in general who voted for democrats? Must they die too? Like this "logic" falls apart all on its own with even just a casual look.

    Libs be like:

    • It's uncivil to applaud the self-inflicted lung cancer of Rush Limbaugh

    • It's very cool to applaud the frostbitten demise of the Texas homeless population

I wonder what happens to these ghouls’ brains when you tell them native Texans went for O’Rourke and transplants voted for Cruz in 2018. No but I deserve to not have power and water, cuz I’m from the bad states.

I’m not trying to generalize too much, but, most people that move to Texas are coming out of the “Inherited my parents home in [High COL state] and sold it and moved to Texas to buy a home for 1/5th of the price” demographic. It’s largely 30-something to 40-something year old people and they’re complete chuds 80% of the time. So that transplants voted for Cruz over native Texans does not even come close to surprising me, even if there are tons of native Texans that are completely gone to reactionary ideology.

Yeah what’s more is I’ve found more “commiefornia” transplants who think they literally live in 1776 America than I’ve found Native Texans living that way, almost as if it’s just liberal projection or something 🤔

What’s sad is that the investment banks are doing that all on their own, and now no one can buy homes in the cities anymore, which as recent as 10 years ago, was a possibility for some working class families. Just recently I tried my hand at the housing market and gave up after 6 months of constantly being out bidded on by investment banks.

Texas isn't even that red anymore. It's like 45% democrat. There have been articles written about it possibly flipping within a few election cycles.

Do liberals really think that dunking on a purple state is gonna help them?

This isn't the first time Texas has endured a freeze. They're rare - maybe one or two every decade - but they do happen. The choice to underinvest in Texas infrastructure didn't happen because of a party, it happened because of a profit motive.

What did that person say about fires in CA? The reason was very similar, public utilities not prepared for climate change and the government not taking proper care of forests to prepare for climate change (especially intentionally burning small and controlled parts of it every year).
