theres a big ass hole im gonna cry
yeah i know but i just really hate dentists and feel like they're gonna judge me for having shit teeth :deeper-sadness:
Dentists don't judge people, just so you know. Any decent medical professional doesn't judge their patients.
they've definitely seen worse. probably that same day they dealt with 3 abcesses leakin green goo in someone who eats sour warhead candies and nothing else
That episode of the Mick when Jerry shows the kids how healthcare works for people who don't have insurance by getting 30 cans of whipped cream, a bottle of cheap vodka and pliers to remove a tooth
there’s a big asshole im gonna cry
go to the dentist your teeth should not be hiding a secret anus inside of them you are not a gogurt genie ffs
I officially announce you as a gogurt genie.
EVERYONE CUMWAFFLE IS A GENIE OF GOGURT
For everyone here, words of advice:
It’s cheaper to fly to Mexico, stay in a hotel, and get your teeth fixed there, than it is to get them fixed in the US, if you need anything more involved than a couple fillings.
It cost me like $4,000 one year to get my teeth fixed, after insurance. We need M4A yesterday
Wait wait wait... AFTER ?!?!?! Holy shit I don't want to know how much it is in America without
Probably $5800. Dental insurance usually only pays out max $1800/year or so.
This was the first year I had dental insurance in like 5 years so there was some stuff I'd been putting off but yeah just staying alive shouldn't be this expensive
Ugh, I always get dreams of my teeth fucking cracking. It's one of the worst things I can imagine, it disturbs me so much. I hope you're okay, that's really awful. :(
Do you involuntarily grind your teeth at night? I do, and I get these dreams occasionally.
I have a consistent dream in which I push my lower jaw forward some, close my mouth, and then pull it back till I rip my incisors out.
I've worn a retainer for years, but I still get the dreams and still try to grind my teeth - even though I can't really do much damage with it in
It sounds like your filling might have just fallen out. Schedule an emergency visit and they may just only have to repack it if you're lucky. Fillings don't last forever.
In the meantime, go to the drug store and buy a missing filling repair kit. DenTemp and DenTek are two brands.Def. don't put off scheduling an appointment, it'll be worse if you do than if you just rip the bandaid off.
Get it fixed as soon as possible, it will only get worse. In the mean time CBD and/or THC (if you can get it will help you with pain and sleep.
If it's still in there it can be fixed. I had a tooth crack literally down the middle but the two halves were still in there. They glued them back together and it has never been a problem since.
I realise this is a cost you don't need though. But yeah, very fixable.
Is the whole tooth gone or is it just that there is a hole in the molar?
Just a hole, i had a filling there so it must have just cracked and fell out :deeper-sadness:
OK, yeah, I was gonna ask if it's possible a filling fell out. Do you have dental insurance?
Yeah, but it's probably gonna be hard to get to a dentist rn cause of covid
Also dentists terrify me
Yeah but i haven't been there in ages :deeper-sadness:
I'll try calling
I've had both emergency and regular dental appointments recently and none of them were worse than normal. I think most people are avoiding the dentist so it's not a big issue.
Something like this happened to me. CW gross and blood and stuff
spoiler
Was chewing gum once when I felt something hard in my gum then bleeding. Turns out a filling fell out, don't know if gum pulled it out or what.
I can't afford the dentist so just been living like this. Just have to avoid hot food on the top right side and make sure food don't get in. Sometimes I feel a throbbing pain but it goes away if I gently brush it and smear some raw pressed garlic on it.
If you can go to the dentist I'd say why not. I understand not everyone can though. Thought I'd share, been there so I feel your pain.
I had to urgently go to the dentist for a root canal because of a severe toothache at the beginning of 2021. I told mum what it cost me and she was shocked, to say the least. €300 (no insurance btw) to get my tooth fixed in Estonia in total versus what she said she paid like $2k+ for something similiar in the States. Of course for a root canal, it may not be an option to repeatedly fly halfway across the world since you need several visits.
Yeah that shit sucks I once broke my tooth on airplane pretzels. So then I couldn’t really eat during my trip lmao.
