We're never given any skills to determine 'good/bad' at life, just useful/unuseful to capitol. You don't suck just because it's hard to fit into the machinery of modern society

im undiagnosed, and only learned about ADHD's symptoms recently and suddenly everything in my life clicked. the memory problems, being unable to focus in class or doing homework, being entirely shit at socializing. rejective sensitive disorder is also the worst for me.

i grew up thinking ADHD was just "hyper child", which i wasn't at all.

If you have enough self-awareness to ask this question, you’re going to be alright. Everyone is weird and bad at life to varying degrees. Just keep working on yourself

i just read these threads and posts where diagnosed people who have sought treatment are listing their experiences and symptoms and just laughing and sweating

    I can't diagnose you.

But I can say that 8-10 years ago, I was struggling with the prospect of "making it" with ADHD and achieving prosperity as an individual in a capitalist society. Now, I aspire to build the collective around me in such a way that it can be a model for people defecting from the global capitalist market and living fully sustainably at the same time. Instead of being a sophisticated but minor implement in a depersonalized system, I am a generalized but essential member of a sort of resistance. So I now have an extremely meaningful path in life, in spite of how I've "fallen short of the mark" by the standards I grew up believing in.

If there's one thing I can say, it is that you are not sick; it is the world that is sick.

So, this is a fun journey I'm on.

Since I was a kid I just assumed I was a lazy slacker then I read some things from people in my field with ADHD and it felt like something clicked and I felt "seen" for the first time. I started doing research and things really started feeling like they were clicking for me. Around that time I got a co-worker that's diagnosed ADHD and we started talking about it and he started pushing me to get evaluated since he sees a lot of what he's like unmedicated in me.

All that being said, at the end of the day, only a doctor can diagnose but getting to that point sucks because ADHD meds are heavily abused and there's a limited supply of doctors who actually understand how to help people with ADHD.

Assuming this is serious and not a meme (I like to air on the side of caution with things like this and assume you're being serious), definitely put some research into what ADHD is and how to manage it. I've been a fan of the HowToADHD channel (there's definitely a few videos like her RSD vid that really hit me to learn that actually I'm not unique and other people feel like I do).

Personally, I haven't been screened yet (literally on my todo list that's staring at me to call a local doctor), but I've been applying coping mechanisms and seeing big improvements. If you have the question, it's definitely worth it to do the research and learn what it is and how to manage it a bit without medication at first and looking into local doctors if you're fortunate to have insurance that covers mental health or an HSA.

Been wondering this myself for quite a while. The thought that there’s a reason I’m so shit at life and that there’s treatment for it is comforting when the alternative is that you just suck. And I know a lot of the shittyness is because of our hellworld but knowing that doesn’t help you cope with the reality that you’re fucking struggling. Idk I don’t have the answers either ☹️

ADHD is a what you call it when that is true. Kinda. there are some neruo anatomical correlates but I don't know how much any one cares about that kind of thing.

if you feel like you have adhd and you get treatment and you feel better it's good enough.

The two things I’ve seen in addition to the typical symptoms is - do they persist in more than two situations (work, with family, with friends), and have these symptoms been present since before the age of 12.

You should try to get evaluated as soon as possible. It took 2 doctors appointments and 4 months to get that set up once I committed to doing it.

Medication really helps a lot of people, so even if you do the other stuff it’s worth pursuing if you can afford it.
