but we're not pro or anti landlords

this is what ops look like :stalin-stressed:

More like radlibs who adopt the "anarchist" moniker as a lifestyle brand name

People who take Anarchism's anti-state, anti-hierarchical disposition as an excuse to read nothing of history or theory as long as they can crudely apply those principles. People to whom a rich revolutionary tradition is no more than dressing up in green for Saint Patrick's Day.

Anarchism is when you dye your hair and listen to punk music to piss off your dad.

Nah, even radlibs are anti landlord. Keynes talked about wanting "the euthanasia of the rentier."

When people have bad opinions it's an op. Everyone in America is naturally right and correct about everything, unless the FBI steps in.

The difference is it's a Vermin Supreme fb group with like 15k members. Why would any agency bother setting up and OP for that

How does it look or act like an op lmao what do people even think an op is? Because it is definitely not a shitpost FB group about a joke candidate doing silly shit every election season.

...can I just come out and say that Vermin Supreme sucks and that shit is annoying? Like I don't know if there's actually some hidden substance to his politics (which I have never bothered to explore) but the dumbass character and theatrics are fucking useless, I dunno.

I think outright, unwavering contempt for the decorum of the political process had a lot more value in the past, but since trump, things are far enough off of the imagined rails that it doesn't do the same thing.

His whole thing is making fun of how empty and performative US politics are, but without proposing an actual solution to the problem.

He was perfectly nice in person, but he does smell exactly like how you would think he does

as lib as it sounds, i really think anarchism needs a rebranding, the word anarchism is just so firmly associated with shit like joker and edgy teen rebellion that its pretty much impossible to link it with an actual tradition of political philosophy in peoples minds. like yeah marxism and communism have scary bullshit associations as well, but theyre at least associated with an intellectual tradition. people picture serious people like marx or lenin if you say communism, but nobody pictures bread santa if you say anarchism. i feel like reclaiming the word is a lost battle at this stage and not a hill worth dying on - i tend to refer to myself as syndicalist when people ask, which is not really accurate but kinda-sorta close enough without using a word that will have people instantly discard my opinions as being shallow edgelord stuff. i dont think using syndicalist in the place of anarchist is a good answer, but it would be nice to have a more neutral term without all the ridiculous pop culture baggage

Anarchism here often just means a resentment with or desire to disengage with the American political establishment because we're so thoroughly brainwormed we believe the two political stances are neoliberal capitalism and extra racist neoliberal capitalism.

The facebook group for a gimmick candidate who does nothing but mediocre bits each election isnt ideologically coherent? Weird.

I blame the stupid quadrent political compass for anarchists being overflowing with everything from liberals, libertarians, ancaps and ancoms. Ooh I don't like the bad cardinal direction therefore I'm an anarchist
