I have a hankerin' to do one thing, and one thing only.
the Wolfenstein reboot games are fucking epic. in Wolfenstein 2 the new order the deliberately made the main cast diverse and the chuds got so fucking pissed about how the game is 'political'. yes a game about nazis is political, and the politics of the game is nazis are bad and you should kill them. the Wolfenstein games are the only power fantasy stuff I like, because it is epic to have two sub machine guns and gun down waves of nazis
In Sniper Elite V2 (probably III, too) you can snipe Nazis in the testicles and it shows a Mortal Kombat style x-ray of the bullet entering their bodies and shredding their nuts
Sniper Elite: Shooting Nazis trying to flee the fall of Berlin
Sniper Elite 2: Shooting Nazis all over Europe
Sniper Elite 3: Shooting Nazis in Africa
Sniper Elite 4: Shooting Nazis and Fascists in Italy
Zombie Army Trilogy: Shooting undead Nazis in Germany
Zombie Army 4: Shooting undead Nazis, but it's brighter and more colorful
v2 - shoot nazis so USA can steal nazi rocket scientists before the war ends
The Sabouteur is a GTA-like that has you as an explosive obsessed member of the French resistance in paris, great art design. Plays it fast and loose with history. Zepplins, hot british spies, fast cars, lots of explosions. Super fun,
thats just sick, why the fuck do you have to make the vidya games political like this :angery:
The newer Wolfenstein games are on steam as a collection for something like $15 right now iirc.
Wolfenstein. Wolfenstein Wolfenstein.
DO it.
The new games are funny as fuck and all around great shooters. Make sure you pick a difficulty level that is just easy enough not to be super frustrating, but hard enough that you can't run and gun carelessly. It's not Quake. The right amount of difficulty makes the experience more rewarding. And you'll hate the Nazis on a slightly different level. And you'll do more stealth, so you'll hear the Nazis talking more often. There's great satire in there. My favorite parts are the constant calls for "civility" and "renunciation of violence" by the Nazis as they continue to run death camps - this pervades much of the story. It can be hard to really feel the contradiction without hearing it from a well-acted fictional Nazi during your own struggle for survival.
And so much catharsis. And shamelessly over-the-top violence and nudity, just ridiculous and they absolutely OWN it. You know how GTA gets away with being insane? It's like that but way more metal.
W1 New Order and W2 New Colossus are simply the best, and it's basically one story arc between the two games. Youngblood is a sequel/spinoff and it's meh, I had some fun but never even finished it. Bit grindy. But you really don't need to play that one IMO.
BONUS: Wolfenstein II New Colossus contains the best version of Wolfenstein 3D, the original Wolfenstein FPS from 1992. It's called Wolfstone - it's a mirror universe clone of Wolfenstein created by the Nazi version of Id Software. Yeah. So it's all Americans and Russians who scream things like "my life!" instead of "mien leben!" and it's its own great satire, but the thing that rocks is that it has fully responsive Mouse + WASD controls that make it absolutely amazing. The game is an exact clone except it just controls well. It's GREAT. It's a BLAST. The bosses in the game are all your actual friends.
There’s a new free to play ww2 multiplayer game called Enlisted that’s pretty fun. Every player controls a whole squad of AI teammates and you can swap between controlling individual soldiers if you die or want to change to a guy with different equipment to deal with a tank or whatever. I’ve been playing as the USSR in the battle of Moscow.
Hearts of Iron 4. Play as the Soviets and liberate everything east of the Rhine and north of the Mediterranean. (Or more if you dare :sicko-yes: )
Alternatively, you can play as France, Spain or Portugal, win the Civil War and cut a swathe into the Reich from the opposite direction.
Also, Wolfenstein: The New Order is the game that made me like FPSs again.
Play Soul Calibur and make Custom characters of Stalin and Hitler and just bash Hitler with nunchucks or whatever arm you choose
the only game i've played lately with violence against facists is higurashi, and that is both entirely text based with no gameplay, and the violence is limited to
Higurashi Spoilers
crushing dreams and home alone style traps. and doesn't have any actual nazis, just a facist militia in 80s japan.
Call of Duty: Finest Hour, in particular the eastern front campaign :cat-com:
Wolfenstein:The New Order is a pretty great game if you haven't played it. The New Colossus isn't bad if you want more.
Does anyone know if Red Orchestra 2:Heros Of Stalingrad is still alive?
I remember the Commandos games being pretty fun, but haven't played them in ages
A bit more modern take, but in the same vein there's Partisans 1941.
You play as partisans instead of a mixed group of "Allied" commandos, so you know you're always the good guys.
Dope! Looks cool as hell! Definitely going to get it
