:shocked-pikachu:
-Propose a bill that would be popular among progressives.
-Talk about it all the time as if you actually support it.
-Have party scapegoat come out against it.
-Lament that you can't pass the bill without full party support.
-Profit. Celebrate with all the centrists that never really supported the bill.
Same with Joe Manchin. It amazes me that anyone thought that a democrat majority congress would do anything.
Salute to comrade Sinema accelerating the death of the US empire :fidel-salute:
:biden: : “elect me because I can reach across the aisle and get Republicans to cooperate!”
Can’t get a single GOP vote even after cutting 60%+ of his legislation
Can’t even whip the votes from within his own party.
:biden: : “ :shocked-pikachu: “
Lmao at the NPR version of this story: Bipartisan Senate Negotiators Say They Reach A Deal On Infrastructure After Hiccups
Only mentions the 3.5 trillion dollar deal as an afterthought. Oh, and there's this juicy tidbit: "Portman said the bill is paid for, including using funds from combating fraud in unemployment assistance programs."
What the fuck does that mean? They're going to use the money they get by taking people's unemployment back?
Probably some surveillance state / means testing bullshit to reduce the # of people drawing on unemployment.
EDD gets PATRIOT Act powers to read your email to make sure you are applying for jobs
Looks like now it's Sinema's turn to boldly stand in the face of even the most mediocre dogshit centrist progress.
:death-to-the-poor:
Independent AZ voters are allowed to vote in the Dem primaries. They are stuck with her for like the next 40 years.
Lol. lmao
I think az presidential primaries are closed. Their state and congressional primaries are mixed and allow independents to vote in the dem/rep primaries.
I could be wrong . I am not even American, just a nerd that looked it up awhile ago. America’s election system being absurdly batshit crazy all over the place does not help trying to figure it out.
I also do not support the $3.5T bill. The government must spend at least $3.6T.
