On May 16th, 1996, Governor Tom Ridge of Pennsylvania signed a series of welfare reforms into law, including cuts to medical assistance, a requirement that childless people between ages 21 and 58 work 100 hours a month to receive medical assistance benefits, and a condition that anyone making more than $5100 a year did not qualify for medical assistance. When implemented, this legislation would cut 250,000 people off of medical assistance.
On this day that year, in response to this, Philadelphians living in poverty and homelessness organized through the Kensington Welfare Rights Union (KWRU), began a 140-mile march from Philadelphia to Harrisburg, the capitol of Pennsylvania. On August 31st, they arrived and camped on the front lawn of the Pennsylvania Capitol building, holding a rally there the next day.
In late September, a federal judge ordered the protesters to leave, however they defied the order, staying until they were forcibly removed by the police on October 3rd. Although the activists were able to speak with Governor Ridge, they were not successful in reversing the welfare reforms. The KWRU continued to organize protests, holding that economic rights and the right to housing, education, food, and a living wage are human rights.

It's almost for sure Russians using microwave or other radiation attacks on the US. Havana was the test and now they're rolling it out all over
The fantasy liberals invent & live in is fascinating
the funniest part is that this supposed trillion dollar ray gun is only causing mild hangover symptoms
AND IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING BUT GIVE U A HEADACHE AND NAUSEA, THAT'S THE PUNCHLINE
Russians made me stub my toe on my coffee table this morning :guts-rage:
Russia snuck into my house while I was drunk and put shit in my pants
I was just about to quote that too lmfao. Imagine saying that completely serious. Libs live in a different reality
If I had to guess? Multiple GRU agents stationed at different points with high intensity microwave weapons. While each individual microwave beam isn’t harmful, if you are at the exact point where these beams intersect, then you are fucked.
This shit is hilarious, it's really just lib Q
Literally made up shit to heighten cold war 2.0 tensions.
I know we're all mocking liberals here and that's cool but this linked thread just fucking reeks of astroturfing. There's just so much dogged insistence of this shit being real that it doesn't pass the smell test, to me.
Where the article that says the Havana syndrome might actually be bugspray?
getting more and more convinced that 99.9999999% of reddit accounts are fed bots
Self-described "Liberal left of Lenin" professor just went "We should have divided Iraq into sunni and shia states, would've saved a lot of dead americans" :what-the-hell:
What if instead of Onlyfans it was Onlyfeds and it was this freaking website :fedposting:
Good morning comrades.
I saw a coyote pup walking home from work the other day (they don't normally come this far into the city).
I think someone here shared a Snapchat post or something of this guy with a coyote in his bathtub like “found this dog, a little snappy but we gave him a bath and he’s in bed now” and not I think about that every time I see the word coyote lol
I nearly ran over an armadillo the other day. I didn't even know they live around here, this is :possum-mama: country
My wife's sister, who is 8 months pregnant and unvaccinated, tested positive for Covid on Friday, went into the hospital on Sunday, and is being induced and put on a ventilator today. I absolutely cannot believe how fast this happened, even though I knew it was highly probable as soon as I heard she had Covid on Friday. I guess I just thought it took longer.
Her and her husband (also without the shot) weren't like crazy anti-vaxxers or anything. She planned on doing it after giving birth, which should have been a month from yesterday. They live in a pretty rural area and unfortunately have some friends who are full on the anti-vaxx wagon, which definitely had some impact.
I'm so glad to have this forum. :meow-hug: Honestly, the only place I feel like people are kind of the same.
Liberals used to at least pay lip service to the idea that we should limit the spread of covid to prevent ICU beds from filling up (because fucking duh) but even some of them are beginning to sound more chud like by the day. Just not giving a fuck that some people who aren't dealing with anything remotely related to covid are at risk of missing intensive care because some hogs think the vaccine will inject a tracking chip. And I often wonder if I'm maybe being a bit too cautious, but then I look at any other country and see their "draconian" and "authoritarian" measures working.
I'm fucking exhausted
when I see biden's approval rating :sicko-yes:
when I realise it's because he ended a war :sicko-no:
If I was a character in the movie Jaws I would simply not swim in the ocean.
Gonna tell my boss I need to go home early today bc I have Havana syndrome
I can't believe the media hasn't done a "think of all the jobs lost by pulling out of Afghanistan" story yet

:reddit-logo: subs are pulling the equivalent of a sternly worded letter to try to stop covid misinformation. I often say that reddit is just 4chan with a better UI, and based on the amount of "downvotes" on the aforementioned letters, I'm right
