If you were ever curious why post-leftists, such as Aimee Terese, call themselves Marxist but not leftist, you're in luck! This article, written by Benedict Cryptofash, is the first in a series that makes the argument that Marx was not a leftist.

Can we please stop calling everything "post". My least favorite academia trend to come out in the past 10 years. It's basically code for "liberal"

The party has decided that from now on, "post" will exclusively refer to "something said by some rando on the internet" to make liberal academia literally unthinkable :1984:

Yeah, and it is sometimes misleading, like how post-Marxism claims to correct the fundamental errors of Marxism and is therefore more radical than Marxism, when in reality post-Marxism is compatible with liberal social theories

Their criticism of liberal idpol, utopian leftism and bourgeois ideology are all fine. But they have to counter that with a vision of truly radical social change that doesn’t give power to reactionary and conservative politics and ideology. Class reductionism is a tool of the capitalists to hamper the development of socialism from within and prevent us from reaching communism.

I will die on the hill that class consciousness is tbe pre-requisite for effective action. Any and all liberal identity ideology can be subverted, and has been. We have seen the results.

Since when does Wasabi burn assholes? I can get jalapeño, birds eye chili, or even ginger if you're consuming a significant amount of the unprocessed root. But I have never heard of anyone complaining about getting a burning ring of fire from wasabi.

I assumed he meant wasabi going through the asshole in the opposite-from-conventional direction which, yeah, would probably burn.

I'd imagine a lot of things would burn when going through the digestive track backwards.

OK, you weren't joking about the name.

On the other hand, apparently radical segments of the left, such as the Democratic Socialists of America

    lol

For the left, Marx is the ultimate leftist, and therefore the ultimate democratic radical. For the right, Marx is the ultimate leftist, and therefore the ultimate radical Democrat.

:jesse-wtf: who fucking cares what the rightoids think?

Dismissing Marx’s association with the left because this term was absent from his vocabulary might lead a leftist to respond that “left/right” was not as ubiquitous in the mid-nineteenth century as it is today ... I argue, however, that ... Marx was not merely not a leftist. He was an antileftist, whose originality emerged through a ruthless criticism of the left-wing politics of his time, namely, the various schools of socialism and anarchism against which he sharpened his historical analysis of class society.

This is just semantic masturbation over the historical meaning of the terms "left" and "right". I regret reading this already.

This whole thing is the author beating off about how smart he is because he doesn't use "left", which might be a good point if it weren't made in the dumbest possible way. "Leftists" nowadays use it to mean "against capitalism". You can replace it with "anti-capitalist" if you want, but none of this makes whatever "post-left" ideological wankery the author is trying to convey interesting at all.

Terese said that both the Soviet Union and China's revolution had nothing to do with socialism and then defended Tucker Carlson as the real socialist choice. Like aside from everything else this shit is just really dumb and the only reason we encountered it at all is because the brooklyn left insisted on cross promoting all their politically illiterate friends.

If leftism was synonymous with utopianism then this could be true, but since that's not the case, it's not true

Also Aimee Terese is not a Marxist
