Its a lose-lose situation for us.

If Democrats win in 2022 the narrative will be "this shows the importance of Biden's pragmatic centrist approach"

If Democrats lose in 2022 the narrative will be "this shows the need for Biden to embrace a pragmatic centrist approach"

    I hate it here

Neoliberal centrism by their definition cannot fail. It can only be failed.

That's been the case for my entire lifetime, I remember someone sharing around an interview with a Clinton or gore era DNC advisor talking about how that's the strategy: move to the right and blame the left until they get in line

Biden only won because people didn't like Trump (see page 17 of the poll results). Trump is as hated as Pelosi and Biden and Kamala are barely doing any better (p. 5-6). But Trump is fervently loved on the right, so 2024 will be really interesting to watch if Trump runs. Expect the news entertainment industry to push for it to happen again.

          Oh man that'd be something.

"These cars, folks, they're done up like you wouldn't believe, they drive around looking for gas and water. Just really terrific cars, beautiful, tremendous weapons."

Me too. I think the DC republicans are as shocked as well are. They probably thought they'd get their judges and their tax cuts and Trump would die from a hidden health problem or problems.

Trump's utter shitshow of a pandemic response really flipped a lot of things on their head just in time for election season. We (rightfully) make fun of the Dems for not doing better against him but, in hindsight, he really ensured their "landslide" victory to begin with. Maybe this will carry over into 2024.

Then again, what do I know? America collectively has the historical memory of a goldfish :zhou-envibe:

Tbh if you look at the last 2 elections with Trump: 2016 was stupid close, could have gone either way. 2020 was stupid close, could have gone either way.

I imagine 2024 will be stupid close and could go either way too. Anyone telling you one party is obviously favored in 2024 is seriously overconfident.

This title implies that there is an on/off switch hidden on the back of Biden's head that Independents have turned to the 'on' position. I'm scared.
