Watch Cuba handle this like champs despite the eternal sanctions regime while the US fucks up its FEMA response.

Climate change and "faster than expected" along with "unprecedented" and "once in a lifetime event". When will people finally realise this is our future and stop the delusions

When their house is on fire. And maybe not even then. There are fire refugees in my town right now wearing MAGA masks and talking about how we just need to round up all the leftists.

Buy guns. This isn't getting better and it's going to end with the US imploding. Maybe not right now but not too far in the future.

You're sarcasm-quoting "once in a lifetime" but next year the hurricanes will be too big to fit two in the gulf without them merging into one.

I mean it's true when you recalibrate it to the revised average lifetime of 3 years

Remember how during the Democratic convention they had a bunch of scientists talking about there was no time left to reverse climate change. And then within the same segment they talked about climate change policy that set goals 30 years from now and how one person said that Joe Biden couldn't change things within 4 years. But at least they can say they were listening to the scientists.

Fuck. Hope she's alright. All my immediate family in California are evacuating due to the fires. Shit's fucked.

I just remembered she's on air. Dad contacted her. They are waiting for the evacuation order tomorrow.

Also, will keep you updated, this is going to really fuck the people of the state up even worse. Before this they already had floods, little welfare support and the maya train being built. As soon as I get any links to support the people here, I'll share it.

Hey! You're from Yucatan! That is... really incredible to me. I have always wanted to visit, for some reason. It seems like a really nice place. From canada.

Also :'( I hope you hold up alright. I'll be thinking of you, specifically, comrade :af-heart:

I'll be fine, don't worry. Yucatán in general is a really interesting, if at times dark place, but it is very quiet and nice.

Oh, I do miss the mapleland. Lots of love all the way from the Mayab!

Oooh, you even know canada. I would truly love to hear more about the Mayab sometime. Post some things or maybe send me some videos or something you like about the place! It sounds nice.

I’m glad you’ll be ok. Lots of love from Anishinaabek territory, way up on this end of Turtle Island!
