Why didn’t you stop it you
I was literally a baby, what was I supposed to do? Googoo gaga at them?
With a whole life ahead of you and you didn’t even think to intervene? Even more pathetic honestly
So was the newly born Russian Federation. It would have been a fair fight
Who would win? One smol baby owl, or one former super power?
Uh you could have pissed on them. I would expect you, the pissiest owl, to have known this.
You're also an owl. Could you even fly yet? Even if you could what would you have done? Left a bunch of mouse skeletons on Yeltsin's front stoop?
taps the sign FROM EACH ACCORDING TO THEIR ABILITY, DIRT_OWL
I have a childhood memory of my parents and grandparents huddled around the TV watching coverage of the how the USSR was dissolving, so I guess it was around Christmas 1991. I kept trying to get my dad to look at a toy or something, then he said something like "not now, this is important." I asked "what is it?"
He said something like "This means there's not gonna be fighting in the world anymore. All the Russians are dying." And for years I literally thought America had stopped an alien invasion or something (I was a dumb kid and had no idea what the USSR was until I was like 10)
"This means there's not gonna be fighting in the world anymore. All the Russians are dying."
What the fuck
Take bets on if my child brain didn't understand what he said or if my dad thought Russians were going extinct
Third guess is that he didn't quite know what language to use to describe dissolution of a country to a toddler. My dad is not an eloquent man
I was calling my parents libs the whole time it was happening but they just thought I was hungry for some reason, or would change my diaper
I was about 6 months old and busy exploring the house despite my parents attempts to cage me.
a true revolutionary like Stalin would've taken his lil baby legs to gorby's office and overthrew him smdh
I once saw an alleged """leftist""" say that communism was better off now that the USSR wasn't around to split the left.
So I guess I let it dissolve to help global communism because now we have nothing to argue about
Almost certainly got that from Chomsky's shit tier take on the end of the USSR.
at the time politicians were spewing bullshit about a "peace dividend", wonder why that never showed up

Isn't that the DSA line? I remember reading it on their website, they hated the USSR and was happy with it's downfall, they thought their "Democratic Socialism" would win in the new Eastern bloc countries, instead they shifted to the right.
No idea what the DSA line is, but I suspect that a lot of people in the DSA don't actually believe that the transition to socialism can be achieved through the electoral system, but they just maintain that line to be able to exist in the USA.
I think Engels also theorized that the transition could happen democratically, but I can't imagine any serious socialist believing that after seeing the events of the 20th century.
I see exactly what you're doing lol lmao even don't even try I definitely wasn't exactly 3 year and 224 days old when it happened. Nope, not at all, good try though.
I'm pretty sure I said 'no' at some point during the day the USSR fell so I did my part.
Eat shit 35 year old users of this website with a suspicious birth year
i would have done something but i was too busy fighting against the sandanistas for the cia
You showed up and the USSR immediately broke, pretty sus if you ask me.
This website
needs age verification so that wecan ban everybodywho was alive before the dissolution of the USSRI'm sorry. I was too busy on my speak n spell and thinking the space shuttle was pretty cool and dinosaurs existed?!
I'm old enough to remember watching the Challenger explode, while my mom freaked out on the couch next to me.
I was too busy stopping the disolution of the other AES states. You really think it was only the USSR that was supposed to dissolve in 1991?
