    I was following r/longevity for a long time. Their idol (Aubury the Grey) was found to be a sexual predator.

    Entire place defended him. They cared more about his image than scientific progress. We're all going to die of old age.

        Yep, subreddit wasn't great before but after that stunt, I (and many others) lost all hope that the place was going to be anything other than rapists jerking off to the fantasy of living forever, and left. The fact that there's nothing left but a bunch of techno-feudalists bullshit is completely unsurprising, because those were the people who never gave a shit about the science in the first place.

        I can safely say that I hope all get that sexy robot body that say they want, then realize that "oh shit, actually this isn't awesome, being a robot is actually a really shitty existence" and have to live with that pain forever. Meanwhile I'm going to die, my soul will go to hell and my body will become plants and that will be all that I ever have to think about it.

          I hope it's more ironic they get to be a robot but as a robot they can't sexually assault anyone

                • Food is far more calorie-dense than any electrical storage

                • Electrical storage breaks down relatively quickly requiring replacement

                • More than likely you will be a slave

                • Society will become more progressive, leaving your "anti-SJW" views extremely outdated

                • Forget getting hacked, corporations will reprogram you and you will willingly accept it

                • Tracking cookies built right into your brain

                • Single cosmic ray hits your brain processor. You no longer exist

                • Single cosmic ray hits your brain processor. You are now corrupted

                • LITERALLY can't log off

                • You'll last like a week, realistically. Nobody cares about your egoist ass enough to save you when things break

                • You can literally be banned from life

                • and finally: literally incapable of feeling happy
