And yet people still die in traffic accidents. Curious.

NYC has the same thing with "vision zero" since 2014 and peds and cyclists are killed all the time in scenarios that could be fixed with proper infrastructure

Nobody actually thinks you can get it all the way to zero. The goal is to get as close to it as possible.

Over the weekend, the city fired two officials for their "slow and weak response" to the outbreak -- one for delaying the transfer and quarantine of more than 100 close contacts, and the other for his poor management of quarantine hotels, state media reported. Another four officials were criticized for their lackluster performances.
Isn't the chud complaint about "you can't fire anyone for incompetence" in the public sector? And how the private sector is superior because low performers get the boot?

Honestly, at the point, I don't think anyone other than some very good science could convince me that COVID started in China. I think they were probably just the first ones to pay attention. CNN is trying to do a hit piece, and they can't help but make China look incredibly competent and rational.
Regardless of covid's origin, my theory that it's being used as a weapon against China is looking more plausible.
I'm pretty sure that a true zero covid strategy would require a first strike on the US.
