From the g*mer.com article.
Update 25/12/21 14:07 GMT: Some conflicting reports claim this is the result of a DNS attack and not a deliberate ban. We will update this story as we know more.

The new of it being banned was broke by some “well known” fortnite patch leaker.
:data-laughing:
Playing any game but TF2 is :haram: anyways.
I have only played a few time the past year and only on community servers.
They're really going to miss thinking they're murdering Chinese players by posting that copypasta.
Wait how is it banned I can still see it in Baidu

That’s the CN site the g*mers are talking about the main Steam store.
I read two articles from game websites so I am not well informed.
Basically some g*mer noticed the main steam store was down in China and everyone started screaming it got banned. Now there are some “reports” it’s under attack.
Basically we have no idea about the main steam store.
The Chinese store has always been up. Apparently tf2 is not good enough for today’s g*mers.
:gulag:
Shit I've been awake for more than an hour and i haven't played any tf2, thanks for the reminder!
Oh, that's actually pretty sad. There were a lot of good Chinese game mods on the Workshop.
There's a really good Left4Dead2 campaign where the ending is a huge showdown in a central square, and then you get rescued by the Chinese military. Shit rocks.
Not me out here pointing out to the boys that maybe Chinese people genuinely believe in their leadership.
Lots of tit-for-tat going on between the US and China.
These policies often pop up after the White House takes a swipe at some Chinese parallel interest or try something through a channel the Americans think can't be shut down.
I don't know if this is even true, and also I dislike Steam anyway so I don't personally care much. :shrug-outta-hecks:
dota and csgo are probably the only games that 95% of Chinese people play tbh
hopefully tf2 is still there tooI seriously doubt that. No Chinese isometric fans? No Chinese Dynasty Warrior fans? Come on.
That's gotta suck for Chinese gamers, no? What happens to their games? : /
still in posession but difficult to access i suppose. The only way i see is selling the account
honkeys when Xi: NOOOO HE'S TAKING AWAY THE OPPRESSED CHINESE BILLIONAIRES' TREATS
honkeys when no Xi: NOOOO THE CHANGS ARE BUYING ALL OUR HOUSESFirst they came for the gamers but I did not speak out bc I was not a gamer :gamer-gulag:
Hey, what's up with all the dudes in these Gamer threads who are oppressed Chinese citizens trapped behind the great firewall, but are also painfully obviously Australian?
