Yeah the collapse of democracy will stop if I worry enough about it online. As we all know, being vocal about our concerns online is opposing literal fascism. Mussolini was in power until the Italian people posted about how he's the biggest threat to democracy and used it as a cudgel to scold people into voting against him. Hitler was thwarted by a breathless podcast episode about turning in your racist uncle for posting a podium guy meme. No leftist worth their salt would deny this. History is when you talk about stuff online and make sure everyone is deeply concerned about the right things.

Democracy is when you let millions of people go homeless, starve, and/or die because you can't get the votes.

It's a little late to oppose the American fascist uprising, that happened last century dude. What we've got now are the most coddled people currently alive having fits about their treats and think a coup is where you go to the place where the capitalist puppets work sometimes and then toddle about aimlessly while having heart attacks

its funny because january 6th was common knowledge around here. everyone knew some shit was supposed to go down on january 6th. i guess its impressive that they got into the building, but thats immediately made a lot less impressive when you realize they were let into the building....

    Same person down the thread

ive seen some of these acelerationist dipshits unironically call it based and act as if the collapse of our democratic institutions wouldn’t just immediately result in an ascendant fascist dictatorship in it’s wake. just deeply unserious larpers who don’t know how politics work.

    ...

    our democratic institutions

    Lmfao what a fucking liberal.

It's because they didn't know all the bad shit existed until someone on a podcast told them but then immediately made it about white liberals. Ignore what all the historical fascists did to people who weren't just like them, concentrate on their feelings about the legitimacy of institutions. Fascism isn't a problem just because it's a lack of democracy. We already have a lack of democracy for many people and groups. It's a problem because it's a violent oppression, a mask-off mandate to exterminate the people without democracy. As history shows it's also a cleanse of people who are privileged but won't fall in line and that's the part which these people are truly concerned about. Yeah yeah forget that America has always been a meat grinder for anyone not wealthy for over 200 years. But we can't afford to lose those institutions! We need those to do this long, drawn-out process of bourgeois democracy that doesn't do shit for those groups so the same people in our cohort don't outright murder them in the streets, which we do sometimes anyways.

Also never ask the question why these legitimate and great institutions tend to create fascist movements. If this democracy is so real and great then why the fuck do these people keep showing up every 50 years? What is the connection between Western republics and the rise of fascism? Can't ask those questions we have to pretend fascism is just a ghost that possesses some people through memes. If we do the right incantation of being deeply concerned online then we can exorcise the spirits! But it only works if we all do it and avoid material analysis because that's divisive and also undermines the precious institutions.

This is a great way to show your ass to people. If an anarchist(?) thinks that's what a riot looks like, I'd have to doubt they're much of an anarchist.

End of Democracy is when a bunch of right wing swine are let into a building, mill about and livestream their brand on twitter and facebook before leaving.

How do these libs think the Jan 6 riot was going to lead to the end of democracy, anyway? Say they were wildly successful. Some fascists kill some politicians, seize the capital building, and prevent the government from using its capital building for a few weeks. Okay now what?

The only way I could’ve seen it being successful is if most of the Republican legislators went along with it, the Dems did nothing to fight it, and then Biden just announced he was conceding to appeal to some stupid sense of “unity”. Unlikely scenario, but the Dems are pretty fucking inept so it doesn’t seem impossible to me idk.

Wasn't there an anarchist in Florida who was calling for collective self-defense around the 1/6 insurrection, and was arrested and put in prison for this speech?

What the fuck do you want from me? I voted as hard as I could. My job ends the second I exit the voting booth in the finest democracy the world has ever seen.
