I'm kinda into it. On an aesthetic level. I hope no one gets hurt or in trouble, but... 😏 Damn... I mean 😘🤭

If a protest is easily ignorable, it isn't a protest, it's a vaguely political urban hike

But, but, but its violent. And it will make people oppose you, not support you. This is why this country is in this state, nobody is willing to have reasonable debates anymore. Im sure if you sit down and talk with those "chuds" you will come to an understanding. You can't just demand the system to change just like that. I mean, I support change, but nothing radical. Too big steps will only disrupt things and offend people. And we need compromise and to work across the aisle. I also enjoy being humilated and degraded, and hate-fucked by my wifes boyfriend without lube

Minneapolis just burned down the city on a rumor of a shooting. I'm not sure there's a way to send a clearer message there's no tolerance for any police shootings and that the city expects the government to follow through and abolish the police.

But what if you, dear viewer, one day owned a Target? What would happen to YOUR insurance premiums when people started taking what they need to survive out of the store instead of simply starving? This is truly a both sides issue minus the side without capital.

That depends on the country lol, in Australia all you have to do to get condemnation and outcry from the right wing press and the Prime Minister is glue yourself to the road and stop traffic in the middle of a city. The Liberal’s were so riled up about vegans doing (almost entirely, some trespassing) peaceful protests they were talking about cutting off Centrelink^* payments to protesters.

      ^* unemployment, student payments etc

This is true, tragic, and worth serious discussion. I'm just ill-equipped to be the one to talk about it. I'm not in a place where I have the mental fortitude to talk about the latest wave of protest and give it due justice.

The US was born on the back of violent protest. The Boston Tea Party wasn't a fucking party. It's baked into our country's DNA. Why all of a sudden the concern about it?

I typically support both, but since you can't say that out loud to most people cuz "muh civility" I typically just go with something like "In a perfect world it wouldn't happen, but we don't live in a perfect world. Neither activity invalidates the message that's trying to be sent.".

You really shouldn't be into it for an aesthetic level, like I get it and I've been there, but this whole thing just makes me so damn sad.

Experiencing social collapse has been especially depressing because I was hopeful of a better world in February when Sanders won Nevada.

If you see a lib say "violence is never ok", ask them if the slaves in Haiti were justified in revolting. Or should they have just all held a peaceful march on Port-au-Prince instead?

Liberal democracy was born in violent revolution against monarchy and the ones that transitioned peacefully did it to keep their heads (and wealth).

youve got to love the people who act like this wasnt totally all avoidable if only over the 50+ years of protests over this subject

like what did they think was going to happen eventually?????

for extra points the people that keep bringing up that theyre bad because theyre illegal, but then also when you ask them if laws should ever be broken when theyre unjust and the whole government simp shows but then bring up how the holocaust was legal and then they sit there like "bUt MuH POinT"

"What is irrational is to appeal legally against a blatant illegality as if it was a mere oversight that would be corrected if pointed out."

      excellent recommendation, thanks for linking

As long as its not looting small businesses that are likely to get shafted with the insurance and you hurt noone, go ahead and loot away.
