Yeah tripping on nutmeg is very dangerous and unpleasant and lasts far too long. Not recommended.
Nutmeg has got to be one of the worst recreational drugs imaginable, it lasts a long time, like up to or around 24hrs with an "afterglow" type secondary effects lasting 3 days. You typically get sick as a dog, very queasy and probably throw up a few times. I never fucked with it but had a friend in HS who did it who loved psychedelics but said nutmeg was more of a delirious high as opposed to a psychedelic experience. I'd rather drink a bottle of robotussin lol
Yeah none of them sound enjoyable to me. I prefer the shortness or shrooms now a days
psilocybin may take a lot to kill you but i have a gut feeling that your brain would be FUCKED if you took 1000 doses of psilocybin. might even put you into a coma
The effectiveness would actually taper off and become oversaturated above a certain number of doses. So basically you would get about as high as you could possibly be, but then the rest would just pass through your system because there wouldn't be any receptors left for it to bind to.
i've heard anecdotally it happens around an ounceish, you start to get heavy tapered effects. anecdotal for sure, but what ssjmarx said is definitely true. this is in contrast to say, LSD, which 1000 doses of is in actuality 1000 doses of LSD. a la thumprints. at least psilocybin has some empathy for your poor brain.
I had an out of body experience with 4 grams of shrooms, I can't even begin to imagine what tripping on an ounce would be like. Normally I do 3 or less grams in peppermint tea with some lemon juice and it's enough for a very good time.
i've found tea to be a much smoother and calmer experience, meaning you can take much higher doses without it becoming too much. 4 grams sounds right though, mckenna always talked about 5 dried grams of mushrooms being the 'heroic dose' where you transcend your sense of self and become one, which he thought was where the good stuff was.
Yeah that scene in Good Time where they
spoiler
pour all that LSD down that security guard's mouth to stop him IDing them was haunting. Like surely that would ruin your brain, which is more macabre than killing someone.
Not psylocybin but LSD obviously, but still same principle I think.
I feel bad for all the little critters that died for this data. :sadness:
I mean, imagine what that much marijuana would do to your lungs. Even just vaping that shit would be horrible for you.
I'm reminded of stories about someone trying to drink thirty gallons of water on a dare and destroying their digestive track as a consequence. There's more to this game than just "how much of the active ingredient will kill you".
Nutmeg has something in it that causes hallucinations but apparently it's a Real Bad Time if you do it
I subbed r/nutmeg just for fun a while back, people seem to really like it but i have a strong hunch it's 80% kids that can't get weed yet. There's this repulsive sounding stuff they call Space Paste (fun!) that's a mix of like maple syrup, nutmeg, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and a bunch of other spices that are theoretically mildly psychoactive in some way and the combination gets you very high but no one actually understands why.
Lmao. I hope to see this as one of the rotating taglines on the top of the site some day soon.
I'm screenshotting this because I laughed for five minutes and I need to never lose that.
the combination gets you very high but no one actually understands why
this does not seem wise
It's actually not that bad. You can't use powdered nutmeg though. You have to grind it up yourself.
Salvia is way worse.
you need to eat about 5 grams of nutmeg, which is A LOT and it tastes awful
as someone else said further down, you need fresh nutmeg and you grind it up yourself and eat it or drink it in something. you need a hefty dose, several grams, which when you're looking at a pile of several grams of ground up nutmeg, it is NOT appetizing to say the least. i tried it as a kid because i spent too much time on totse and it ruined the soda i mixed it in for years for me. absolutely putrid shit.
Is that why Minh Souphanousinphone was crazy about putting lots of nutmeg in everything?
totse
damn i've been trying to remember the name of that site for over a decade
ha that doesn't surprise me, i remember reading shoplifting tips and stuff about counterfeiting money for hours on there as a kid. also probably where i first read about nutmeg as a drug.
Yeah, that's a blast from the past. I was the mod of their humanities forum, back in the day. Haven't thought of that for years.
wtf is an "effective dose" of nutmeg? A pinch of it in your baked goods?
I would assume enough to cause hallucinations, since those are the real "drug" effects of nutmeg, as opposed to the flavouring effects.
Back before I could reliably acquire alcohol or good drugs, my friend and I both nutted with each other. I think we each took 1.5-2 whole nuts. Just breaking them up and chewing them raw. It's a deliriant. Not especially pleasant imo. It also happened to be a situation where we stayed up to dawn.
True friends spend the night together Nutting into their mouths.
It takes ages to do and for me isn't as pleasant as alternatives. Also the taste is really bad.
All I know about nitrous oxide is that a lot of pro athletes do it as it's pretty much never in your system for any detectable amount of time so it doesn't show up on drug and doping tests.
hmm makes sense since it basically allows you to ignore all physical pain or exhaustion for a really short burst
Yeah definitely. Also when you're taking a piss test every week, your options are pretty limited with stuff like marijuana and most hallucinogens on the WADA doping list.
Sleeping pills are another one commonly abused by athletes, especially those that play night games or alternate between different time zones often. I've heard there a disturbing trend of benzodiazepine sleeping pills being abused by athletes. Benzos addiction is not something you want to mess with.
Dude decided to go into a coma instead of go through benzos withdrawal and almost died. Apparently he had to re learn to write and stuff.
But because we live in hellworld, he's back again promoting bullshit.
Benzo withdrawal can kill you. You need to wean off of it. You should for sure consult with an actual doctor when trying to quit
yeah benzos are no joke. i take phenibut once a week but that's as far as i'm willing to dabble with my GABA receptors.
been using weekly for about 3 years now. what's your daily dosage? have you been able to secure a reliable stockpile with the big shortage?
Ah shit forgot to reply.
About 6gpd here, for a number of years. No, havent found anyone reliabe, but I just learned about the shortage like...2 days ago. Usually get from Liftmode, but since they're out, I tried Nootropics Source. That'll be here Thursday.
no prob! ok i'm glad you got an order in. have you thought about tapering? or tried agmantine to reduce tolerance? and i think the shortage is temporary i'm not sure how true it is but caused by a temporary shutdown from covid in the main chinese production facility?
Haven't heard anything about it, but i haven't really paid much attention. So long as I can keep myself from feeling like having a heart attack, I'm happy. And just ordered a scale to start my taper! Already on agmatine and a few other supplements to help with the upcoming taper. Agmatine is a weird one for me cause a lot of people LOVE it, but in doses at 500mg or above, it just makes my heart race.
i take agamatine right before bed, about 1.2 g. for some reason it does the opposite for me and helps me sleep, and basically cancels out the rebound anxiety insomnia i get for the couple days after phenibut. it's weird how stuff works differently for different people.
were you using the phenibut originally to self treat anxiety? i'm fucking weird because i originally used it as a stimulant, even if i do have social anxiety.Yep, anxiety treatment when I didn't have access to health care. It's grown into something I really need to kick - I've quit Tianeptine cold turkey before which was fucking hell (one part opiate, one part weird fucky SSRI), but phenibut sucks too so tapering is the way to go.
And yeah, agmatine messes with your BP levels. I've tried taking a gram before, just didn't agree with my body for whatever reason. I take 300mg in the morning with some other stacks for mental benefits I take to help counter what the phenibut has done to my memory and stuff, but that's about it.
tia spooked me out, esp reading reports after ordering a tub (never opened it, it's in my "break glass if sucidal depression"). i'm guessing it was a fun combination of intense opioid withdrawls and weird brainzappy SSRI shit rolled into one? and you know i thought phenibut was good for clearing out brain fog but i think with my daily kratom i've noticed in the last year it's actually fucking up my memory
I didn't get the brain zaps, but it was about a month of insomnia and anxiety on top of opiate WDs. So, yeah, totally fucking great. Luckily I was only on the stuff for 6-8 months, but my usage got so intense I'd need to wake up ever 3 hours at night to shovel tia down my throat. At least with Phenibut I can sleep through most of the night.
ugggh. the ultra-short duration was definitely a turn off. i've always hated stuff with short half-life. i got hooked on loperamide (yes, it's possible!) to fight heroin/morphine w/ds because it has a 24 hr duration... it sucked as an opioid but long half life make such easier tapers!
I had half a mind to try an immodium high, but never took enough. Although I do take like 6 at a time some days since the phenibut use has wrecked my gut.
it doesn't seem to cross bbb for everyone. i took 48 tablets first time when in w/d and it killed the w/d and gave a buzz. feels like a sleepier methadone buzz, with a touch of morphine. problem is it's a pretty strong calcium ion channel blocker too so it can slow your heart rate down dangerously.
Right on. Sounds like something to not fuck with then.
yeah. ironically the ca+ blocking and the strong opioid effect combined makes a great pain reducer lol.
Yeah, I heard that immodium actually is close to morphine molecularly, just doesnt cross the BBB so you get the opiate constipation effect without the high.
Anyways, if you ever wanna talk drugs, inbox is always open! I'm starting my phenibut taper proper over the weekend, scale is coming in the mail, so I'm sure we'll have a lot to talk about soon.
Lmao same. I have to be on the internet for my job so all day every day, I have a nice little Hexbear tab open to hit F5 on the slop.
there is no way they are doing it while actively doing anything lol you can pass out standing up from doing it. it lasts like a minute and is very disorienting
trust me as a very experienced nitrous (and other disassociatives) user it doesn't take long to get used to the buzz and be fully functional on it.
and where exactly are they doing this lol. its one of the most conspicuous thing possible lol
im smashin whippits rn and have been for a week and i cannot imagine actively doing anything. mfers have fallen over in my house doin em and we all do them pretty regularly
They do it at nightclubs usually. I know Arsenal players and some other footballers/soccer players from other clubs have been caught doing it. Brighton and Man U players are the ones I can remember offf the top of my head.

I ordered a hot chocolate with marshmallow fluff one winter, and mistakenly dusted it with a large helping of nutmeg, thinking it was cocoa powder..
The drink was ruined and I hate nutmeg to this day :powercry-2:
mescaline more harmful than rohypnol? DMT more harmful than nitrous? marijuana less harmful than LSD? where is this data from?
There are charts which are about harm, this one is about lethal dosage to effective dosage though.
So the take away point is that the for alcohol you will feel effects at around 0.3 pro mil, if you have 3.0 in your blood then you are likely at serious risk of death (for alcohol it is according to other sources often in the range of 2.5-4.0 pro mil).
Though source would be nice. In terms of N2O the problematic dosage is really high. However it does ignore the effects of consumption and other heavy gases which can over saturate your lungs. Still the effects of high N2O doses is not good even when you don't die to it and ought to be avoided - especially during Covid when hospitals have other priorities.
Source on twitter is here: https://twitter.com/eddietalksdrugs/status/1098334734374047760
But it doesn't give ultimate source, which is https://www.americanscientist.org/libraries/documents/200645104835_307.pdf
yeah, not gonna lie, i totally missed the top line which explains it's ratio of fatal dose to effective dose, which i guess explains my confusion.
datura is incomprehensible to me from like...every angle. it's supposed to be like ayahuasca, complete with the vomiting your guts out, and then with like a much scarier trip.
