      I wish Steven Colbert’s mom was pushed down a flight of stairs.

      His mom died a long time ago. How about a dad joke? I just remembered - his dad died in a plane crash when Colbert was a boy. Well, you could wish Steven Colbert’s zombie mom (or zombie dad) was decapitated.

      I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed this, this is so fuckin obviously Asset Flip the TV show with Colbert's name on there just to provide a semblance of legitimacy.

    Everything Colbert does makes me wonder, was the Colbert Report actually funny or were we just libs when we watched it?

      I was a big-time lib so my brain was filled with worms and I didn't even know anything about anything. I thought he was very funny and trenchant.

      The other day I watched him talk to Anderson Cooper about the necessary role of suffering in god's plan. I had a sort of vomity feeling like when you realize the pizza rolls you had the night before were at least about 11 years old. But you were so hungry you that after you heated them up - you wolfed them down even though your nose said "DO NOT FUCKING EAT THAT! DO NOT! DO NOT! DO NOT!"

      I realized he was giving me Mother Teresa vibes. She intentionally withheld meds from the poors so in their greater suffering - they could be closer to god. There's a strain of American Catholicism that's entirely unlike American typical fundie-ism. It can be quite modest, erudite, and polite but it's just as bad and batshit as the screaming Protestants who want eternal suffering for anyone who questions God's infinite love - to quote Bill Hicks.

      I never watched Colbert, but I knew a chud who liked the Colbert Report and didn't get that the entire thing was a satire of his worldview, so that was pretty funny.

    this makes me feel even more bad for the animators who've spent years working on pilots for animated series' only to get rejected or not green-lighted, meanwhile this does only because Colbert is some late-night show guy.

      Animators have a job that's often cruel and they don't have control over anything. I don't know how they manage not to go postal. And it's thankless. I'm sure fanboys and fangirls go up to the bold-faced names connected to something and congratulate and fawn on the famous as if they did the animation themselves.
