Been following the combatfootage subreddit and it's wild to me that it's the only place I've seen that actually calls out Ukrainian propaganda and collectively hates Azov more than the Russians and separatists. Especially considering it's basically a sub for psychopaths who get off on watching people get killed. The Ukrainianconflict sub, on the other hand has been insanely deranged. Tons of comments saying that NATO should intervene and that the threat of nuclear war is overblown.

      combatfootage

At least from my perspective the community is more about the equipment and tactics and what's actually happening which reduces the level of inaccuracies inherent to propaganda

Yeah that's true. They like flaunting how much they know about munitions and shit and get pissed off when politics gets in the way of that.

I was going to take a peek there, but I just assumed they'd be chowing down on propaganda or other poorly contextualized clips.

Then again the psychopaths have probably seen every clip from 2014 and such already so they know their shit...

Combatfootage is honestly a decent place to get footage of bombings and troop movements. Lots of posts are footage from 3 days ago claiming they're new, but that's probably because I sort by new. The people there aren't anti-imperialist or anything but they seem to be realists for the most part, at least the ones who have been there for a while. Lots of new people are in there high on western propaganda too but they get called out periodically. The long time users are mostly military nerds, so they have an understanding of the type of power that Russia wields, probably from watching a million videos of Russian military actions in Syria over the past years. For instance, I saw a post last night where they debunked that Russia used cluster bombs in Ukraine (I think Kharkov, I don't remember) with footage of Russian cluster bombs in ISIS controlled territory in Syria.

I figure a lot of the core users are combat arms veterans themselves. If they've been right in the shit, they aren't likely to let some dumbass from /all try and have a say about whatever's going on.
